Abstrak :
Skripsi ini membahas mengenai identifikasi penerapan variabel desain near Zero Energy House nZEH di daerah Asia Tenggara yang beriklim tropis dan membandingkan implementasi penerapan variabel desain nZEH di Indonesia dan negara di Asia Tenggara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menyebutkan bahwa variabel yang dapat digunakan untuk daerah beriklim tropis adalah spesifikasi konstruksi, penggunaan teknologi pembangkit energi terbarukan, desain pasif, fenestrasi, sistem ventilasi, pencahayaan, dan advanced control. Terdapat perbedaan penerapan variabel nZEH di Indonesia dengan negara di Asia Tenggara, dimana perubahan ini terdapat pada penerapan variabel spesifikasi konstruksi, penggunaan teknologi pembangkit energi,desain pasif, sistem ventilasi, dan advanced control. ......This undergraduate thesis discuss about the implementation of near zero energy house nZEH design variable in the tropical climate of South East Asia, and comparing the implementation of nZEH design variable in Indonesia with other Countries in South East Asia. This research use qualitative research method. The results of the study shows variable that can be applied in tropical climate is Construction specification, Renewable Energy Technology, Passive Design, Fenestration, Ventilation System, Lighting, and Advanced System Control. There are some differences on the implementation of nZEH variables in Indonesia with countries in South East Asia Region, the difference of these variables can be found on the implementation of Construction Specification, Renewable Energy Technology, Passive Design, Ventilation system and Advanced control.

Abstrak :
Desain optimal dari bangunan hemat energi menghadapi dua kebutuhan yang saling bertentangan, yaitu biaya yang seekonomis mungkin dan dampak lingkungan yang seminimal mungkin. Tingginya biaya bangunan hemat energi seperti near Zero Energy House disebabkan oleh tingginya harga peralatan dan material yang diaplikasikan seperti panel surya, insulasi dan lain-lain. Tujuan dari penelitan ini adalah menemukan desain yang optimal dari sebuah near Zero Energy House, dengan studi kasus terhadap rumah 1 tingkat. Sasaran dari optimasi desain ini adalah kinerja biaya siklus hidup yang lebih ekonomis jika dibandingkan dengan bangunan konvensional. Metode optimasi dengan algoritma genetika adalah metode optimasi paling sesuai untuk permasalahan optimasi desain yang memiliki banyak variabel. Sangat sulit untuk menemukan solusi tunggal, atau solusi terbaik untuk optimasi desain. Dengan menggunakan algoritma genetika, perancang bangunan dapat memilih salah satu dari solusi terbaik hasil optimasi yang sesuai dengan permintaan dan batasan-batasan yang ada.
Optimal design of energy efficient buildings facing two conflicting requirements, namely costs as economical as possible and minimal environmental impact. The high cost of energy efficient buildings as near Zero Energy House due to the high price of equipment and materials that are applied as solar panels, insulation and others. The purpose of this research is to find the optimal design of a near Zero Energy House, with a case study on the first level. The goal of this design is the optimization of life cycle cost performance is more economical when compared to conventional buildings. Optimization method with genetic algorithm optimization is the most suitable method for design optimization problem that has many variables. It is very difficult to find a single solution, or the best solution for design optimization. By using genetic algorithms, building designer can choose one of the best results of the optimization solution according to the demand and constraints that exist.

In an effort to support carbon footprint reduction in housing development, one approach is designing energy efficient housing. Issues such as cost efficiency and minimum environmental impact should be thoroughly considered when designing this type of housing. One of concepts found to be cost-effective and to increase the energy performance of a house is the near Zero Energy House (nZEH) concept. This concept enhances the use of natural resources, for example, sunlight exposure, climate conditions, and wind, that can minimize the use of fossil fuel energy. Housing in a tropical climate where sun exposure is year round, such as in Indonesia, can benefit from the nZEH concept. This research aimed to identify design parameters of nZEH and its best practices in tropical climates, including Indonesia. The identified design parameters will be used in the next step of the research, finding a combination of cost optimum design parameters. This study was conducted by consulting recognized experts, which included government, private sector, and academicia, who have expertise in the field of building design and energy. The results showed that the design parameters of nZEH in tropical areas include passive design, fenestration, indoor lighting arrangements, and the use of photovoltaic panels (PV).

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi variabel-variabel desain konsep near-zero energy housing nZEH serta penerapan terbaiknya di daerah tropis seperti Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif melalui expert judgement dari pihak pemerintah, swasta, serta akademisi yang memiliki keahlian di dalam bidang desain bangunan dan energi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variabel desain nZEH di daerah tropis meliputi desain pasif, fenestrasi, pengaturan pencahayaan, dan penggunaan panel photovoltaic PV. Pertimbangan lain meliputi penggunaan peralatan listrik ramah lingkungan, pemasangan sub meteran untuk air conditioner AC dan kotak kontak, penggunaan kipas angin atau AC dengan variable refrigerant flow VRF, serta pemanfaatan perangkat lunak simulasi bangunan dalam proses desain. ......This research is aimed to identify design variables of near zero energy housing nZEH and its best practices in tropical climate, including Indonesia. This study was conducted by using expert judgement, which included government, private sector, and academician who are considered to have expertise in the field of building design and energy. The results showed that the design variables of nZEH in tropical areas include passive design, fenestration, indoor lighting arrangements, and use of photovoltaic panels PV. Other considerations include the use of environmentally friendly electrical equipment, installation of sub meter for the air conditioner AC and socket, use of fan or AC with variable refrigerant flow VRF, and use of building simulation software in the design process.
