Abstrak :
While this book partly builds on the insights of this literature, it is significantly different in that it offers a philosophically-informed discussion of the actual practical experience of being a parent, with its deliberations, judgements and dilemmas. In probing the ethical and conceptual questions suggested by the parent-child relationship, this unique volume demonstrates the irreducible philosophical richness of this relationship and thus provides an important counter-balance to the overly empirical and largely psychological focus of a great deal of ?parenting? literature. This work draws on first-person accounts of the day-to-day experience of being a parent in order to explore the ethical and epistemological aspects of this experience.

Abstrak :
Penelitian ini berusaha melihat hubungan antara parent attachment dan kematangan karir pada siswa SMA. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA yang berada di Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tanggerang, Bekasi), sebanyak 884 orang. Parent attachment diukur dengan menggunakan alat ukur IPPA (Inventory Parent and Peer Attachment) yang disusun oleh Greenberg & Armsden (1987), yang dimodikasi oleh peneliti disesuaikan dengan partisipan di Indonesia. Peneliti memisahkan attachment pada ayah dan Ibu, karena berdasarkan pada Greenberg & Armsden (1987) mereka memiliki dampak yang berbeda. Kematangan karir diukur dengan CDI (Career Development Inventory) yang disusun oleh Super and Thompson (1979) Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara parent attachment dengan kematangan karir. Ditemukan pula bahwa hanya attachment pada ayah yang memiliki hubungan yang signifikan. Selain itu, ternyata ditemukan bahwa hanya dimensi trust dalam attachment pada ayah yang berhubungan dengan kematangan karir. This research aims to get the correlation between parent attachment and career maturity on senior high school students. The participants of this research are the students on senior high school in Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi), amounts 884 students. Parent attachment was measured by measurement tools that modified by researcher based on school well-being measurement tools made by Greenberg & Armsden (1987). On the other hand, career maturity measured by measurement tools that modified by researcher based on CDI (Career Development Inventory) instrument, developed by Super and Thompson (1979). The results indicates that there are positive and significant relations between parent attachment with career maturity. It also found only father attachment related to career maturity. Besides, it also found that only trust dimension of father attachment related to career maturity.
