"[ABSTRAKKedokteran gigi estetik dipengaruhi berbagai faktor. Digital Smile Design (DSD) merupakan salah satu kemajuan ilmu dan teknologi yang sangat menunjang perawatan dalam bidang estetika. Dokter gigi dapat langsung memberi gambaran rencana perawatan pada pasien. Proporsi gigi anterior merupakan salah satu faktor penting dalam perencanaan perawatan dalam bidang estetik Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis persepsi kepuasan pasien terhadap estetika desain senyum yang dihasilkan dengan dan tanpa panduan DSD.Subjek berjumlah 25 orang dengan indikasi rehabilitasi estetik diminta untuk menilai kepuasan estetika desain senyum dengan 2 metode mock up, yaitu dengan dan tanpa panduan Digital Smile Design serta menjawab kuesioner estetik yang sudah tervalidasi dengan nilai alpha cronbach 0,98. Mock up dengan panduan DSD menghasilkan kepuasan yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan mock up tanpa panduan DSD.

"Konsep 'body image' atau citra tubuh memiliki peran sentral dalam memahami psikologi pasien bedah plastik estetik. Rasa ketidakpuasan terhadap citra tubuh akan memotivasi seseorang untuk menjalani bedah estetik. Ketika perasaan negatif itu mencapai tingkat psikopatologis maka seseorang itu telah masuk dalam kiasifikasi gangguan citra tubuh. Ada beberapa instrumen psikometrik yang dapat mengukur citra tubuh seseorang. Multidimensional Body Self Relation Questionnaire -- Appearance Scale (MBSRQ-AS) dan Modifikasi Body image Disturbance Questionnaire (BIDQ) adalah dua instrumen citra tubuh yang telah dibuktikan kesahihan dan keandalannya. Telah dilakukan studi potong lintang yang didesain sedemikian rupa agar didapatkan subyek yang relatif seragam dalam karakter demografiknya, yang melibatkan 156 klien wanita RS Aibee berusia di alas 18 tahun, terdiri 74 subyek kelompok yang ingin menjalani operasi estetik dan 82 subyek yang tak tertarik bedah estetik sebagai kontrolnya. MBSRQ-AS dan Modifikasi BIDQ terbukti dapat mengetahui gambaran citra tubuh pasien bedah estetik di Indonesia dan sahib dalam membedakan kelompok pasien bedah estetik wanita dan kelompok wanita normatif. Selain itu didapatkan perbedaan bennakna derajat gangguan citra tubuh antara kedua kelompok yang mana terdapat 12,2% subyek dari kelompok estetik yang masuk dalam kiasifikasi gangguan citra tubuh atau tersangka menderita body dysmorphic disorder. Kelompok ini tidak akan puas dengan basil operasi estetik. Sebaiknya populasi ini diwaspadai oteh ahti bedah plastik.

Body image is thought to play a central role in understanding the psychology of the aesthetic surgery patients. Dissatisfaction with one's body image motivates people to seek aesthetic surgery. When a negative body image reaches a critical level of psychopathology, it may contribute to body image disturbances. There are several set report psychometrically tool to measure one's body image. Multidimensional Body Self Relation Questionnaire - Appearance Scale (MBSRQ-AS) and Body image Disturbance Questionnaire (BIDQ) are well validated and reliable body image instruments. The participants were 156 women age 18 years and older who came to Aibee Hospital as a Client. These parameter of 74 aesthetic surgery patients and 82 women who do not interest in aesthetic surgery as a control group matched relatively for many demographic data were compared in a cross-sectional design. MBSRQ-AS and modified BIDQ were administered to both groups. The instruments had been proven and validated that they had a discriminatory power -- an ability to show the body Image schemas and to differentiate between aesthetic surgery patients and the norm group. A significant difference was determined in the rates of body image disturbances in two groups. We found nine (12,2%) of 74 aesthetic patients were clasified as body image disturbance and were diagnosed with suspected body dysmorphic disorder. These populations invariably are not satisfied despite the objective result. The plastic surgeon should be aware of them."
