Tesis ini membahas tentang aspek poetics dalam suatu tata pamer. Aspek poetics yang dijalankan dalam penelitian ini adalah membangun aktivitasproduksi makna meaning making yang dihasilkan oleh tata pamer Galeri Kepresidenan Museum Kepresidenan Republik Indonesia Balai Kirti MKRIBK . Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membangun aktivitasproduksi makna meaning making yang dihasilkan oleh tata pamer Galeri Kepresidenan MKRIBK dengan cara mengonsep ulang narasi melalui pemberian tema pada masing-masing galeri presiden. Hasil penelitian ini adalah MKRIBK patut didorong untuk lebih mengembangkan tata pamernya mengikuti kaidah poetics dengan cara mendesain ulang tata pamer Galeri Kepresidenan MKRIBKmelalui pendekatan konstruktivis agar tercapai meaning making.

ABSTRACT
This study discusses the aspect of poetics in an exhibition. The poetics used in this research are for meaning making of the exhibition in Gallery of Honor of the Presidential Museum of the Republic of Indonesia Balai Kirti PMRIBK . This research is a qualitative research which aims to build meaning making activities for the exhibition in Gallery of Honor of the PMRIBK by re conceptualizing the narratives by giving each gallery in the museum a specific theme. The results of this research show that PMRIBK should be encouraged to further develop its exhibition by following the principles of poetics by redesigning the exhibition in the Gallery of Honor ofPMRIBK through a constructivist approach in order to achieve meaning making.

Abstrak :
The following personal and poetic inquiry examines Indonesian objects, art, and cultural expressions through the lensing of coloniality (A. Benítez Rojo 1992; A. Quijano and M. Ennis 2000; W.D. Mignolo 2011). The inquiry interacts with the objects, art, and cultural expressions through the creation of ekphrastic poetry – poems which describe works of art. Specifically, this inquiry examines my experiences with Dutch coloniality as a white cisgendered man with a Dutch heritage/inheritance who was born and raised in a predominantly Dutch immigrant community in West Michigan in the United States. Building from the work of Gloria Wekker and given my positionality, I am interested, “in the landscape that underlies the question, the cultural archive, and what it tells us about the continuities of the imperial construction of a dominant white Dutch self”(2016: 74). The personal, poetic aspects of this work engage the practices and experiences which have led me to where I am both in my professional and personal life. These aspects of my life within and beyond the academy allow me to examine histories critically and consider my entanglements with whiteness and within the matrix of coloniality of power through ekphrastic poetry.

Dalam penelitian ini salah satu tugas museum baru yaitu evaluasi telah dilakukan terhadap relief yang terletak di pintu masuk Museum Etnobotani Indonesia. Kegiatan evaluasi ini mencakup analisa konteks relief, makna illustrasi pada relief, interpretasi pesan Museum Etnobotani Indonesia melalui relief, dan pameran makna illustrasi relief. Penelitian ini merupakan aplikasi dari kajian museum poetics yaitu bagaimana meneliti makna dari objek museum dan memamerkan makna dari relief. Tahap pertama dalam evaluasi ini adalah menetapkan konteks dari relief. Tahap kedua adalah dengan menentukan makna dari illustrasi pada relief melalui proses semiosis. Dalam proses ini, illustrasiillustrasi tersebut akan dianggap sebagai tanda. Setelah makna illustrasi pada relief telah diperoleh, tahap selanjutnya adalah menentukan pesan museum yang ingin disampaikan kepada pengunjung. Tahap terakhir dalam evaluasi ini adalah memamerkan makna illustrasi relief kepada pengunjung sehingga pengunjung dapat menangkap pesan yang ingin disampaikan. Dari hasil analisa dan pembahasan yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini, dapat dikatakan bahwa relief di Museum Etnobotani Indonesia merupakan media penyampaian pesan museum. ...... In this study, evaluation as one of the tasks of the new museum has been done to relief that is located at the entrance of the Indonesian Museum of Ethnobotany. The evaluation includes analysis of the context of relief, meaning of illustration in relief, message interpretation of Indonesian Museum of Ethnobotany through relief, and exhibition of the meaning from relief?s illustration. This research is an application of poetics museum studies that examines the meaning of museum objects and exhibit the meaning. The first step in this evaluation is to establish the context of relief. The second stage is to determine the meaning of illustration in relief through the process of semiosis. In this process, the illustration would be considered a sign. Once the meaning of illustration in relief has been obtained, the next step is to define the message to be conveyed to the museum?s visitors. The last stage in this evaluation is the exhibition of illustration?s meaning so that visitors can capture the message. From the analysis and discussion conducted in this study, it can be said that the relief in the Indonesian Museum of Ethnobotany is a media that convey the museum?s message.

Karya tulis telah lama menjadi media bagi manusia untuk mengungkapkan imajinasinya. Melalui ruang imajinasi yang dikembangkan begitu intens dan kaya, pembaca dibawa ke dalam interioritas cerita. Namun, di balik interioritas si cerita tersimpan simbol-simbol interioritas sang pengarang. Dengan mengambil tiga contoh karya Edgar Allan Poe, skripsi ini akan membahas tidak hanya interioritas cerita, namun mencoba untuk menelisik lebih mendalam simbol dibalik interioritas cerita dengan mengolah data menggunakan genius loci (Norberg Schulz,1991) dan Poetics of Space (Gaston Bachelard,1994). ......Literature has been the media for people to tell others their imagination. Through abstract space of imagination, which is developed intensively and rich, has taken the readers to feel the interiority of the story. But behind all stories, lay symbols which rooted to the author's interiority. With three cases from Edgar Allan Poe's stories, this script will not just talked about interiority in story, but it also tried to analyzes further behind the symbols in the stories by using theories of genius loci (Norberg Schulz, 1991) and Poetics of Space (Gaston Bachelard, 1994).
