"Penelitian ini membahas empat novel populer karya Motinggo Busye yang terbit antara tahun 1963 dan 1978. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan seksualitas dan erotisme yang terdapat di dalam novel tersebut dan menentukan erotisme tersebut termasuk dalam pornografi atau tidak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif analitis. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan struktural dengan menggunakan analisis intrinsik, yaitu analisis tema dan tokoh dan penokohan, serta analisis gaya bahasa untuk melihat aspek estetik erotisme tersebut.

This research discusses four novels by Motinggo Busye which published within 1963 and 1978. This research's aims are to describe the sexuality and eroticism on that novels and to ascertain whether the eroticism were pornography or not. The method of this research is descriptive analysis method. The approach of this research is structural approach by using intrinsic analysis, which are theme analysis and character and characterization analysis, and stylistic analysis to figure the esthetic aspect of the eroticism."

"ABSTRAKSkripsi ini membahas dua novel metropop terbitan PT Gramedia Pustaka Utama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik novel-novel metropop, perkembangan novel metropop sebagai tren baru novel populer, dan menentukan novel metropop merupakan tren novel populer yang berbeda dari novel populer pada umumnya atau tidak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif analitik. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan intrinsik dan ekstrinsik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa novel metropop dapat diterima oleh masyarakat pembaca. Selain itu, dari karakteristik novel metropop yang diperoleh, diketahui bahwa novel metropop merupakan novel chicklit versi Indonesia yang disesuaikan dengan masyarakat dan kebudayaan Indonesia.

AbstractThis final task discusses about two metropop novels published by PT GPU. The research means to find out the characteristic of the metropop novel, its development as a new trend of popular novel, and to define weather this genre of novel is different or not, compare to popular novel in general. The method used in this research is analytic descriptive method. The approaches used are intrinsic and extrinsic approach. The result shows that metropop novel accepted by the reader society. Its characteristic has shown that it is an Indonesia chicklit novel that had been adjusted to the people and the culture of Indonesia."
