Abstrak :
The study aims to probe the effect of perceived price, perceived quality, brand awareness, and social influence on purchase intention of South East Asian (SEA) Young Adults towards global smartphone brands. This explanatory research uses quantitative empirical data collected from 200 SEA Young Adults studying in one of the public universities in Malaysia. Stratified random sampling is used while ensuring fair representation of SEA countries, viz., Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Correlation and regression analysis were carried out using SPSS 20.0. The study resulted in the finding that social influence has the highest level of linear relationship and so is the most influential factor among four. The findings provide guidelines to global smartphone brands for developing value proposition and better promotion mix for smartphones promotion.

Iklan sebagai bagian dari bauran promosi yang juga merupakan bagian dari strategi integrated marketing commnunication (IMC), sehingga perusahaan harus mendesain iklannya agar tujuan komunikasi dan promosi yang diinginkan bisa tercapai. Seorang endorser atau juru bicara digunakan oleh marketer pada iklan produk mereka sebagai sumber yang kredibel dan memiliki daya tarik yang diharapkan dapat mempengaruhi sikap konsumen terhadap iklan yang ditunjukkan, terhadap merek, dan terutama terhadap niat pembelian konsumen. Kredibilitas perusahaan atau reputasi si perusahaan untuk keahlian dan kejujurannya juga termasuk jenis kredibilitas sumber yang dapat mempengaruhi reaksi konsumen terhadap iklan yang dipaparkan dan membentuk sikap mereka terhadap merek. Penelitian yang dilakukan mengalisa kredibilitas endorser maupun perusahaan serta daya tarik endorser pada sikap konsumen terhadap iklan, merek, dan intensi pembelian ketika sikap sebelumnya pada merek dilibatkan. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap iklan make up Maybelline dengan menggunakan 150 responden. Dari analisis penelitian didapat bahwa kredibilitas dan daya tarik endorser, serta kredibilitas perusahaan memiliki pengaruh yang kuat terhadap iklan. Kemudian sikap terhadap iklan dan sikap terhadap merek berpengaruh terhadap minat pembelian. Namun didapat bahwa kredibilitas perusahaan tidak memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap intensi pembelian. Tidak terdapat juga efek moderasi dari sikap sebelumnya terhadap merek pada hubungan sikap terhadap iklan dan sikap terhadap merek. ......Advertising as the part of promotional mix and integrated marketing communication strategics (IMC), makes the companies should design their ads thus their communication and promotion objectives could be achieved. An endorser or a spokesperson is frequently used by marketers in their product advertisements as a credible source that is hoped to influence the attitude of consumers in the marketplace toward the shown advertisement, the brand and most importantly their purchase intentions.Corporate credibility, the reputation of a company for honesty and expertise is another type of source credibility that is said to influence consumers’ reaction to the shown product advertisements and shape their attitudes to brands. The present study assessed the impact of both source credibility, corporate and endorser credibility as well endorser attractiveness on consumers’ attitude toward advertising, attitude toward brand, and purchase intention (PI) when brand familiarity is tested. A study carried out to Maybelline make up ads using 150 respondents. Path analysis confirmed that credibility and attractiveness of endorser as well corporate credibility had strengthened impact on attitude towards ads, then attitude toward ads and attitude toward brand had impact on purchase intention. While corporate credibility has no impact on purchase intention and there is no effect for prior attitude toward brand on relationship between attitude toward ads and attitude toward brand.

Tesis ini membahas mengenai pengaruh loyalitas akan merek induk, persepsi kesamaan merek induk dan merek ekstensi, dan keterlibatan konsumen akan kategori produk ekstensi, terhadap evaluasi dan intensitas pembelian ekstensi merek deodoran dari Adidas. Teknik sampling yang dilakukan adalah non probability sampling. Metode analisis data menggunakan dua software, yakni SPSS 16.0 untuk pretest dan SmartPLS 3 untuk melakukan analisis model pengukuran dan model struktural penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dimensi dari loyalitas akan merek induk, yakni hubungan afektif terhadap merek induk, perilaku loyalitas terhadap merek induk, dan hubungan citra diri konsumen dengan merek induk, secara positif mempengaruhi evaluasi konsumen akan brand extension deodoran Adidas. Keterlibatan konsumen terhadap kategori extended product juga secara positif mempengaruhi evaluasi konsumen akan brand extension deodoran Adidas. Persamaan antara merek induk dan merek ekstensi secara positif mempengaruhi evaluasi konsumen akan brand extension deodoran Adidas. Lalu yang terakhir adalah, evaluasi konsumen akan brand extension juga secara positif mempengaruhi intensi pembelian terhadap brand Adidas deodorant. ......This thesis examine the effects of loyalty towards parent brand, similarity between parent brand and extended brand, and consumer involvement towards extended product category, towards attitude regarding brand extension and purchase intention towards brand extension of deodorant from Adidas. The research using non probability sampling technique and using two softwares for data analysis SPSS 16.0 for pretest and SmartPLS 3 for analyzing measurement model and structural model. Output from the research shows that three dimension of brand loyalty toward parent brand, which is affective relationship, behaviour intention, and self image relationship have a positive effect toward attitude regarding brand extension. Then, similarity between parent brand and extended brand has a positive effect towards attitude regarding brand extension. After that, consumer involvement towards extended product category also has a positive effect towards attitude regarding brand extension. Lastly, attitude towards brand extension also has a positive effect towards purchase intention regarding Adidas deodorant as a brand extension.
