This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-worksop proceedings of the 7th International Workshop Radio Frequency Identification: Security and Privacy Issues. RFIDSec 2011, held in Amherst, Massachusetts, USA, in June 2011. The 12 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 21 initial submissions for inclusion in the book. The papers focus on minimalism in cryptography, on-tag cryptography, securing RFID with physics, and protocol-level security in RFID.

Ultra-wideband radio frequency identification systems describes the essentials of radio frequency identification systems as well as their target markets. The authors provide a study of commercially available RFID systems and characterizes their performance in terms of read range and reliability in the presence of conductive and dielectric materials. The capabilities and limitations of some commercial RFID systems are reported followed by comprehensive discussions of the advantages and challenges of using ultra-wideband technology for tag/reader communications. The book presents practical aspects of UWB RFID system such as : pulse generation, remote powering, tag and reader antenna design, as well as special applications of UWB RFIDs.

New technologies and standards are emerging which will have a dramatic effect on the design and implementation of future industrial control systems. PLCs and PC-based soft controllers are beginning to use software components, such as object-oriented technology, to bring together the hitherto different worlds of factory automation and business systems. New tools and techniques are needed to design and model these systems, such as UML and modern fieldbus technology. The new IEC 61499 standard has been developed specifically to model distributed control systems, defining concepts and models so that software in the form of function blocks can be interconnected to define the behaviour of a distributed control system. Tools based on IEC 61499 are likely to emerge soon to model, validate and simulate the behaviour of complex networks of function blocks and it is expected that this standard will become key to complex distributed systems.

In this work a market driven evaluation based on sales potential of information is developed. Simple technical means for aggregation of micro values to a billable amount are discussed. The requirements for electronic billing infrastructure are defined and a matching e-billing solutions for an evaluation scenario is presented, providing a technical infrastructure to evaluate and bill product-related information in a future internet of things, based on an extended EPCglobal Architecture. Further opportunities and threats are discussed to provide an overview of its future potential. As a result it will contribute to the sustainable success of the Internet of things itself.

Tag Aktif RFID merupakan suatu divais dengan daya yang rendah. Tag ini seringkali digunakan sebagai perangkat tracking devices, pada pengoperasiannnya tag ini akan berada di wilayah yang jauh dari akses sumber tenaga listrik. Oleh karena itu divais ini membutuhkan suatu sumber tenaga yang mandiri. Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut tenaga surya dapat digunakan karena tenaga surya yang berasal dari cahaya matahari terdapat dimana saja. Suatu media penyimpanan energi dibutuhkan untuk menunjang tenaga surya sebagai sumber tenaga, untuk peran tersebut, superkapasitor dapat digunakan. Kemampuan lifecycle superkapasitor yang panjang menjadi keunggulan superkapasitor sebagai media penyimpanan energi, dimana superkapasitor dapat menjalani proses charge dan discharge dengan jumlah yang jauh lebih banyak dibanding baterai. Pada skripsi ini akan dibuat rancang bangun dari implementasi panel surya sebagai sumber energi listrik dengan superkapasitor sebagai media penyimpan energi untuk Tag Aktif RFID. ......Active RFID Tag is a device with low power consumption. This Tag are used to be a tracking devices that operate on remote area and far from electrical power source. Thus, this device need an independent power source, in order to achieve that, a solar cell can be used because the sunlight can be found anywhere. To support a solar cell as a power source, an energy storage are needed and to fullfill that need, a supercapacitor can be used. The advantages of supercapacitor as an energy strorage are its long lifecycle that means a lot more amount of charging and discharging process compared to conventional battery. On this thesis, the design and fabrication of solar cell implementation as electrical power source with supercapacitor as energy storage for Active RFID Tag will be covered.
