Sejak tahun 2009 telah dibuat undang undang tentang pemakaian helm. Peraturan ini berlaku bagi seluruh pengguna sepeda motor baik jarak jauh maupun dekat. Undang undang Republik Indonesia nomor 22 tahun 2009 tentang Lalu Lintas dan Angkutan Jalan pasal 291 ayat 1 dan 2 yang berbunyi : setiap orang yang mengemudikan sepeda motor tidak mengenakan helm standar nasional Indonesia dipidana dengan pidana kurungan maksimal 1 bulan atau denda maksimal Rp.250.000, ayat 2 : setiap orang yang mengemudikan sepeda motor yang membiarkan penumpangnya tidak mengenakan helm dipidana dengan pidana kurungan maksimal satu bulan atu denda maksimal Rp.250.000. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubngan antara variabel internal dan eksternal yg membentuk persepsi dengan persepsi itu sendiri serta dengan pemakaian helm pada mahasiswa Universitas Indonesia kampus Depok. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan data primer hasil dari penyebaran kuesioner yang kemudian dianalisis dengan software analisis data statistik. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah hubungan antara variabel variabel pembentuk persepsi dengan persepsi, variabel pendahulu dengan pemakauian helm, serta persepsi dengan pemakaian helm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan yang berarti antara variabel pendahulu dengan persepsi, dan juga ada hubungan berarti antara variabel pengetahuan, pengaruh sosial, dan pengaruh lingkungan terhadap penggunaan helm. Didapatkan juga hubungan yang berarti antara persepsi dengan penggunaan helm dengan P Value = 0,000 dan OR sebesar 5,610. yang berarti mahasiswa yang memiliki persepsi baik memiliki kemungkinan 5,610 kali untuk memiliki pemakaian helm yang baik pula. Since 2009 the government published laws about motorcycle helmet. These laws applied to all motorcycle rider either cross city rider or city rider. Indonesian Republic national laws No. 22 2009 about road and traffic chapter 291 clause 1 and 2 which reads: every motorcycle riders who ride their motorcycle without using national standardized helmet shall be punished with maximum 1 month jail punishment or maximum Rp.250.000 fine. Clause 2: every motorcycle rider who let their passenger wear no helmet while riding the motorcycle shall be punished whit maximum 1 month jail punishment or maximum Rp.250.000 fine. The purposes of this research are to find the relationship between internal and external factor wich form the perception and the perception itself and the relationship between the perception and the usage of motorcycle helmet among Universitas Indonesia Depok students. This reaserch is a kuantitative research with primary data from distributed questionnaries wich then analyzed with statistic data software. The result of this research were relationships between internal and external factor wich form the perception, forming factor of perception and helmet usage rate, and the prception itself and the usage of helmet. The result shows that there is a significant relationship between the forming factor of perception and the perception itself, and significant relationship between knowledge, social influence, and environtment influence factor and the usage of helmet among Universitas Indonesia Depok students. The result also show that there is significant relationship between perception and helmet usage whit P-Value = 0,000 and OR (Odd Ratio) 5,610. Wich mean student whit good perception have the probability of 5,610 times to also have good rate of helmet usage.
