"ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT
Pondoh snakefruit is a type of fruit that is quite popular in Indonesia. The name Pondoh comes from the base of coconut shoots, called pondoh in Indonesian, which shares similarities with the snakefruit type in terms of the white colour and sweet taste of both flesh. Pondoh snakefruit that has been harvested and sold in fruit stores often does not have long storage time because of mechanical, physiological, and microbiological damages. This research focuses on developing methods to detect storage time as a damage indicator of Pondoh snakefruit sold in fruit stores with the hypothesis that a snakefruit with longer storage time with have different impact force response to a snakefruit newly bought from a store. In this research, 4 (four) Pondoh snakefruits from a height of 0.5 meter and another 4 (four) Pondoh snakefruits from a height of 1 meter were all dropped to a force sensor which records force and time. The first maximum forces and first pulse impulses from the testings tend to decline as the storage time increases. The mean maximum force was then divided by mass and gravity so that a nondimensional number was obtained as a comparison and to be plotted into graphs. The impulse from the first pulse divided by mass, gravity, and contact time of the first pulse. Afterwards, an accuracy test was done using 15 (fifteen) snakefruits with 3 (three) snakefruits dropped everyday. When the accuracy test was done, the result showed a resemblance accuracy of 60% for maximum force parameter and 33.33% for first pulse impulse parameter. This is due to a couple of errors including mechanical damages caused by the snakefruits being dropped many times and the imperfect drop positions of the snakefruits."

". Wardani S, Sugiyarto. 2009. Characterization of white grubs (Melolonthidae: Coleoptera) at salak pondoh agroecosystem in
Mount Merapi based on isozymic banding patterns. Nusantara Bioscience 1: 38-42. The aim of this research is to know the
characteristics of white grubs (Melolonthidae: Coleoptera) based on isozyme banding patterns. This research was conducted at Sleman,
Yogyakarta, and Magelang-Central Java for the morphological purposes. The sample was taken from 5 places with different height in
wich 5 samples were taken from each location. The method used in this research was polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) using
the vertical type. The enzyme system used in this research were peroxidase and esterase to detect the isozyme banding patterns. The
results showed that there was a variation in isozyme banding patterns of white grubs (Melolonthidae: Coleoptera) at salak pondoh
agroecosystem in Mount Merapi?s slope (peroxidase in station II and IV while esterase in station III and V). It?s mean that genetic variation
on white grubs population at salak pondoh agroecosystem in Mount Merapi?s slope was found. The environmental condition also
contributed to the influence of the appear of isozyme banding pattern?s variation because each location had a different condition. "
