"Telah dilakukan penelitia yang bertujuan mengestimasi stok karbon dalam sedimen pada ekosistem padang lamun di kepulauan Spermonde, khususnya di Pulau Bonetambung dan Pulau Lae-Lae, Makassar. Pengambilan sedimen dilakukan pada area padang lamun dengan menggunakan sediment core berdiameter 5 cm dan kedalaman alat sampai 30 cm. Luasan tutupan lamun diperoleh dari analisis citra satelit Landsat-8 dan kondisi lamun yaitu dengan menggunakan petak contoh berukuran 100cm x 100cm. Hasil analisis citra landsat-8 didapatkan luasan tutupan ekosistem padang lamun di Pulau Bonetambung yakni 14.18 ha dimana didapatkan 4 kategori tutupan lamun yaitu sangat padat 0.2 ha , padat 0.7 ha , sedang 6 ha dan jarang 7 ha . Sedangkan pada Pulau Lae-Lae diperoleh luasan ekosistem padang lamun yakni 5,04 ha dan didapatkan 3 kategori tutupan lamun yaitu jarang 0,36 ha , sedang 3,42 ha dan padat 1,23 ha.
Hasil analisis contoh sedimen didapatkan pada Pulau Bonetambung dan Pulau Lae-Lae didominasi oleh tipe sedimen pasir kasar. Didapatkan nilai rerata kandungan karbon sedimen pada ekosistem padang lamun yaitu di Pulau Bonetambung 9,6 MgCha-1 pada kedalaman 0-30 cm sedangkan di Pulau Lae-Lae diperoleh 8,98 MgCha-1. Total Stok karbon sedimen pada area padang lamun Pulau Bonetambung yaitu 136,08 MgC atau setara dengan 503,5 MgCO2 e sedangkan di Pulau Lae-Lae didaptkan 44,86 MgC atau setara dengan 165,9 MgCO2 e. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekosistem lamun berperan sangat penting dalam menjaga stok karbon di laut sehingga perlu mendapat perhatian untuk konservasinya.

Research has been conducted to estimate carbon stocks of sediments in the seagrass ecosystems of the Spermonde islands, particularly on the Bonetambung Island and Lae Lae Island, Makassar City. Sediment collection was carried out on the seagrass beds area using 5 cm diameter core sediment and the depth up to 30 cm. The seagrass cover area was obtained from Landsat 8 satellite imagery analysis and seagrass condition was measured by using sample plots 100cm x 100cm . The result of landsat 8 image analysis was found that the extent of seagrass ecosystem cover on Bonetambung Island was 14.18 ha, which found 4 categories of seagrass cover that is very solid 0.2 ha , solid 0.7 ha, medium 6 ha and rare 7 ha . While on Lae Lae Island, the seagrass ecosystem area is 5,04 ha and 3 rams cover category is rarely 0,36 ha, medium 3,42 ha and solid 1,23 ha.
The result of sediment sampling was obtained on Bonetambung Island and Lae Lae Island was dominated by rough sand sediment type. The average value of sediment carbon content in the seagrass seagrass ecosystem is found in Bonetambung Island 9.6 MgCha 1 at a depth of 0 30 cm while on Lae Lae Island is 8.98 MgCha 1. Total Stock of sediment carbon in the seagrass area of Bonetambung Island was 136.08 MgC or equivalent to 503.5 MgCO2 e while on Lae Lae Island was obtained 44.86 MgC or equal to 165.9 MgCO2 e. The results show that the seagrass ecosystem plays a very important role in maintaining carbon stocks in the sea so it needs to get attention for its conservation.

"Penelitian mengenai struktur komunitas lamun di perairan Muara Binuangeun, Banten, telah dilakukan pada tanggal 6--9 November 2015. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas lamun yang mencakup persentase tutupan, frekuensi, kerapatan, indeks nilai kepentingan, indeks keanekaragaman, indeks kemerataan, dan indeks dominansi pada setiap stasiun di Muara Binuangeun. Penentuan lokasi pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah jenis lamun yang diperoleh di Muara Binuangeun sebanyak 3 jenis dari 2 suku. Persentase tutupan lamun di setiap stasiun berkisar antara 28,40--61,60%. Kerapatan lamun di setiap stasiun berkisar antara 637--1655 individu/m2. Jenis Thalassia hemprichii memiliki frekuensi tertinggi berkisar 86,67--100%, sedangkan Halodule uninervis merupakan jenis dengan frekuensi terendah berkisar 6,67--20%. Thalassia hemprichii memiliki indeks nilai kepentingan tertinggi di Muara Binuangeun berkisar 138--300%, sedangkan Halodule uninervis memiliki indeks nilai kepentingan terendah yang berkisar antara 4--12%. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman di Muara Binuangeun tergolong rendah berkisar antara 0--0,73, dengan nilai indeks dominansi yang tergolong tinggi pada stasiun 1 dan 2 (1,00), tergolong sedang pada stasiun 3 (0,53) dan tergolong rendah pada stasiun 4 (0,49). Nilai indeks kemerataan pada stasiun 1 dan 2 yang tergolong rendah (0), serta stasiun 3 (0,63) dan 4 (0,67) yang tergolong tinggi. Secara umum, struktur komunitas lamun pada lokasi penelitian tergolong tidak stabil karena tingkat keanekaragaman dan kemerataan yang rendah serta tingkat dominansi yang tinggi.

Research on community structure of seagrass in waters of Muara Binuangeun, Banten, was conducted on November 6th -- November 9th, 2015. The study aims to determine the community structure of seagrass which includes diversity, cover percentage, frequency, density, importance values, diversity index, evenness index, and dominance index at all of station in Muara Binuangeun. The location of sampling was determined by purposive sampling. The results showed that there are 3 species of seagrass from 2 family in Muara Binuangeun. Percentage seagrass covering in each station ranged from 28,40--61,60%. Seagrass density at each station ranged from 637--1655 individuals/m2. Thalassia hemprichii is the highest frequency (86,67--100%), while Halodule uninervis is the lowest frequency (6,67--20%). Thalassia hemprichii has the highest importance index in Muara Binuangeun (138--300%), while Halodule uninervis has the lowest importance index(4--12%.). The diversity index value in Muara Binuangeun was considered as low (0--0,73), with the dominance index value was high at stations 1 and 2 (1,00), was moderate at station 3 (0,53) and was low in station 4 (0,49). Evenness index values at stations 1 and 2 were considered as low (0), was moderate at station 3 (0,63) and was high at station 4 (0,67). In general, the community structure of seagrass in Muara Binuangeun is unstable because of the diversity and evenness were low, and also dominance were high.

Ketersediaan jasa ekosistem lamun sangat bergantung pada kondisi biofisik dan dinamika ekosistem terutama dari faktor antropogenik. Ekosistem lamun saat ini sedang mengalami krisis karena semakin terpengaruh oleh perubahan yang diakibatkan oleh aktivitas manusia di zona pesisir. Ini menghambat kelangsungan ekosistem lamun. Riset ini mengevaluasi indeks kesehatan ekosistem lamun dan menentukan potensi keberlanjutan pemanfaatan jasa ekosistem lamun di pesisir Pulau Panjang, Serang, Banten dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif serta metode campuran. Studi ini menemukan bahwa Pulau Panjang memiliki keragaman spesies lamun yang cukup tinggi dengan ditemukan 7 spesies lamun termasuk Enhalus acoroides yang cukup mendominasi pesisir pulau. Indeks kesehatan lamun juga cukup tinggi yang berkisar di antara 60 – 70%. Hasil riset juga membuktikan bahwa perilaku masyarakat yang konsumtif memicu pemanfataan jasa ekosistem yang tinggi. Pemanfaatan jasa ekosistem lamun yang tinggi dapat mengecilkan potensi pemanfaatan secara berkelanjutan. Ini dikarenakan tingkat pendidikan masyarakat yang tergolong rendah. Oleh karena itu, sosiasliasi dan pengelolaan atas ekosistem lamun perlu segera diimplementasikan.

 


The existence of seagrass ecosystem services is dependent on biophysical conditions and the dynamics of the ecosystem, especially from anthropogenic factors. Seagrass ecosystems are currently in crisis because they are increasingly affected by changes caused by human activities in the coastal zone. This inhibits the sustainability of the seagrass ecosystem. This research evaluates the health index of seagrass ecosystems and determines the potential for sustainable utilization of seagrass ecosystem services on the coast of Pulau Panjang, Serang, Banten using quantitative approaches and mixed methods. The study found that Panjang Island have a high diversity of seagrass species with 7 seagrass species found, including Enhalus acoroides which dominated the coast. Habitat structure index represents seagrass health that was obtained is quite high which ranges between 60 - 70%. Another result of this research also proves that high consumptive behavior triggers the high utilization of ecosystem services. The utilization of seagrass ecosystems can reduce the potential for sustainable utilization of seagrass ecosystems. This is due to the communities’ low education. Therefore, management of seagrass ecosystems needs to be implemented immediately so that sustainable utilization of seagrass ecosystem services can be actualized.
