"[ ABSTRAK
Film To Livemerupakan film yang diadaptasi dari novel karya Yu Hua(余华) yang dipublikasikan pada tahun 1992 dengan judul yang sama dengan karya filmnya. Film ini merupakan film garapan dari sutradara generasi kelima yang terkenal bernama Zhang Yimou(张艺谋). Film ini merupakan film yang menceritakan mengenai kehidupan keluarga Xu Fugui(徐富贵)dan usaha mereka untuk bertahan hidup di beberapa dekade sejarah Cina yang dinodai dengan perang, perselisihan internal, bencana alam dan kelaparan, serta kekacauan politik.Sepanjang cerita di dalam film, sosok Mao Zedong (毛泽东)tidak ditampilkan sebagai tokoh dalam film tetapi ditampilkan dalam beragam bentuk seperti foto, lukisan, syair lagu dan dialog.Rumusan masalah yang ingin dijawab dalam penelitian ini adalahapakah makna dari sosok Mao dalam film To Live. Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji makna dari sosok Mao dalam berbagai bentuk yang ditampilkan dalam film To Live. Dalam melakukan penulisan, penulis menggunakan metode analisis deskriptifdengan teori semiotik Peirce.
ABSTRACT To Live is a movie that adopted from Yu Hua?s (余华)novel which is publicated in 1992 with the same title as the movie title. This movie was created by fifth generation director, Zhang Yimou (张艺谋). The movies tell us about Xu Fugui?s family life and how they get hard to survive through decades of wars, internal friction, disaster and starvation, and political madness. In the whole story, Mao Zedong never been showed as a movie?s character but as many object like photo, paint, song lyric, and dialogue. This paper is about to answer on what is the meaning of Mao figure in this To Live movie. This paper have objective to examine the meaning of Mao figure which appear as difference object in To Live movie. "[ ABSTRAK
Film merupakan salah satu sarana komunikasi massa untuk menyampaikan pesan melalui simbol-simbol yang muncul di dalam adegan film. Tak sedikit pula film dijadikan sebagai sarana untuk menyampaikan pandangan tentang suatu kondisi masyarakat tertentu pasca terjadinya suatu peristiwa sejarah besar di suatu wilayah. Film Coming Home adalah salah satunya yang menggambarkan kondisi sebuah keluarga yang menjadi korban atas peristiwa Revolusi Kebudayaan di Tiongkok pada tahun 1966-1976 yang masih menyisakan kesedihan walau peristiwa tersebut telah lama dinyatakan selesai. Melalui pendekatan semiotik, penulisan ini bertujuan menganalisis simbol angka lima yang juga muncul di dalam lima adegan film Coming Home sebagai gambaran kondisi suatu keluarga yang masih menjadi korban pasca Revolusi Kebudayaan.

Coming Home film is one that describes the condition of a family who became victims of the events of the Cultural Revolution in China in 1966-1976 with lingering sadness even though the event has long finished. "Strategi pemasaran global harus dilakukan oleh perusahaan lokal untuk mempengaruhi konsumen dalam menciptakan brand awareness yang kuat, positif, dan konsisten di pasar lokal. Evercoss A7T merupakan salah satu produk smartphone lokal yang merepresentasikan modernitas dalam iklannya. Penggunaan model asing dan bahasa Inggris dalam iklan A7T Evercoss menunjukkan penggunaan simbol global yang mengacu pada gaya hidup internasional. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan pengertian dari reputasi internasional yang digunakan oleh iklan Evercoss A7T.
Penelitian ini akan difokuskan pada tanda-tanda di iklan Evercoss A7T sebagai obyek, serta mengartikan kode yang terdapat pada iklan tersebut . Untuk menganalisis makna dan tanda-tanda dalam iklan, saya menggunakan semiotik untuk identifikasi, klasifikasi, dan interpretasi. Manfaat dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan masukan bagi pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan juga masukan bagi pengiklan.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model asing dan bahasa Inggris secara konsisten telah digunakan dalam iklan Evercoss A7T, yang merepresentasikan menarik perhatian, modernitas, dan globalisasi. Dalam iklan Evercoss A7T, bahasa Inggris digunakan dalam fitur teks, slogan, dan body text iklan.

Global marketing strategy should be done by a local company to influence consumers in order to create a strong, positive, and consistent brand awareness in the local market. Evercoss A7T is one of the local Smartphone products that represent modernity in its advertising. The use of foreign models and English in A7T Evercoss advertisement indicates the use of a symbol of global, international life style. The purpose of this study is to describe the meaning of such a suggestion of international standing used by A7T Evercoss advertisement.
This study will focuses in signs on Evercoss A7T advertisements as the objects, as well as deciphers the codes behind the advertisements. To analyze the meaning and the signs in advertisement, I will use semiotic in a way to identified, classified, and interpreted. The benefits of this research are expected to provide input for the development of science and also an input for the advertisers.
The results show that the use of foreign models and the English have consistently been used in advertising Evercoss A7T, which represents attention catchers, modernity, and globalization. In Evercoss advertising A7T, English is used in the features of the text, slogan, and the body text of the advertisement.
