"Various methods for termite detection have been developed, one of them is purely based on the acoustic signal. However, that method still has a weakness, wherein it is difficult to separate the signal generated by the termite or the noise from the environment. The combination of the feature extraction at the acoustic signal and the classification model is expected to overcome the weakness. In this investigation, we inserted 220 subterranean termites Coptotermes curvignathus into pine wood for feeding activity and observed its acoustic signal. In addition, three acoustic features (i.e., short-term energy, entropy and zero moment power) were proposed to recognize the termite's acoustic signal. Subsequently, these features will be analyzed and combined with discriminant analysis to produce the robust classification model. According to the numerical results, the integrated discriminant analysis and the acoustic feature in our termite detection system has an 83.75% accuracy."

"ABSTRAK
To be a world-class industry is every nation's dream. However; to realize this aspiration an industry must transform itself to be more powerful that contributes significantly to the economic growth and nation's prosperity. As a strategic industry in Indonesia steel industry it is believed that to achieve world-class standards it should be ready to compete in the regional and global markets. Then, followed by scenario planning development how this industry can adaptively develop these core competences along the way to the journey to the world-class level. At the end, early warning signals should be anticipated by the industry authorities to effectively implement the developed scenarios."

"This book provides various speech enhancement algorithms for digital hearing aids. It covers information on noise signals extracted from silences of speech signal. The description of the algorithm used for this purpose is also provided. Different types of adaptive filters such as Least Mean Squares (LMS), Normalized LMS (NLMS) and Recursive Lease Squares (RLS) are described for noise reduction in the speech signals. Different types of noises are taken to generate noisy speech signals, and therefore information on various noises signals is provided. The comparative performance of various adaptive filters for noise reduction in speech signals is also described. In addition, the book provides a speech enhancement technique using adaptive filtering and necessary frequency strength enhancement using wavelet transform as per the requirement of audiogram for digital hearing aids.
- Presents speech enhancement techniques for improving performance of digital hearing aids;
- Covers various types of adaptive filters and their advantages and limitations;
- Provides a hybrid speech enhancement technique using wavelet transform and adaptive filters.

"A high precision is generally required by doctors in order to read the ECG records presented in the scaled paper. This research is conducted in order to realize a prototype which could help the doctors in the interpretation of ECG records for infarction detection. This research processes the already existing ECG records using wavelet noise elimination technique, which is then analyzed by using High Speed QRS Detection method in order to obtain some parameters of Q-Pathologi- cal wave as well as the elevation value of the ST segment. The final result is the detection of myocardial abnormalities, which is presented visually by using graphical user interface, working well."
