"Artikel ini menganalisis strategi kampanye defensif yang diterapkan oleh Prabowo Subianto dalam merespon isu HAM selama debat presiden 2024. Isu HAM menjadi salah satu isu sensitif dan berpotensi mempengaruhi pilihan masyarakat terhadap kandidat presiden. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan analisis diskursus isi debat Prabowo berdasarkan teori strategi kampanye oleh Schroeder. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa Prabowo menggunakan berbagai bentuk strategi defensif dalam kampanyenya seperti meningkatkan pemahaman pemilih serta mendekatkan diri dengan pemerintahan Jokowi. Temuan ini memberikan pengetahuan tentang bagaimana kandidat presiden merespon tantangan isu sensitif yang akan mempengaruhi persepsi pemilih.

This article analyzes the defensive campaign strategy implemented by Prabowo Subianto in responding to human rights issues during the 2024 presidential debate. Human rights issues are one of the sensitive issues and have the potential to influence people's choice of presidential candidates. This study uses a discourse analysis approach to Prabowo's debate based on Schroeder's campaign strategy theory. The results of the analysis show that Prabowo uses various forms of defensive strategies in his campaign such as increasing voter understanding and getting closer to the Jokowi government. These findings provide knowledge about how candidates respond to the challenges of sensitive issues that will influence voter perceptions."
