"Pertumbuhan jumlah produsen dan produksi telepon selular dari tahun ke tahun mengalami peningkatan yang tinggi. Hal ini didukung dengan upaya perluasan jaringan dan layanan yang dilakukan oleh para penyedia layanan telepon seluler di Indonesia. NOKIA sebagai salah satu perusahaan produsen telepon selular ikut meramaikan persaingan bisnis telepon selular tersebut. Mengingat tingginya tingkat persaingan antar produsen, menyebabkan setiap perusahaan termasuk NOKIA harus melakukan upaya¬-upaya agar dapat tetap bertahan dalam industri ini bahkan tetap menjadi market leader.
Produsen - produsen yang yang memiliki ekuitas merek serta merek yang kuat akan lebih mudah menguasai pasar, menciptakan pasar baru, dan pada akhirnya meningkatkan profit perusahaan. Pada penelitian penulis telah melakukan pengukuran atas ekuitas merek Nokia melalui elemen - elemen Kesadaran Merek, Asosiasi Merek, Persepsi Kualitas dan Loyalitas Merek terhadap 200 orang konsumen Nokia di Jakarta dan dari penelitian yang dilakukan telah terbukti bahwa ekuitas merek Nokia dinilai cukup tinggi. Dari penelitian tersebut Nokia dinilai telah memiliki kekuatan pada salah satu intangible asset-nya sehingga akan membuat daya tarik Nokia semakin besar untuk membawa konsumen untuk mengkonsumsi produk Nokia tahun ini.
Analisis ekuitas merek Nokia tersebut selain merupakan info atau data yang terkini namun juga dapat dijadikan sebuah basis untuk menyusun sebuah strategi ataupun taktis perusahaan, salah satunya adalah strategi Integrated Marketing Communication yang akan ditempuh oleh Nokia karena Nokia memerlukan lebih dari sekedar mengembangkan produk yang baik, menawarkannya dengan harga menarik dan membuatnya mudah dijangkau, namun Nokia juga harus berkomunikasi dengan para Stakeholders yang ada sekarang dan yang potensial, serta masyarakat umum. Untuk berkomunikasi secara efektif, pemasar perlu memahami unsur - unsur fundamental yang mendasari komunikasi yang efektif. Strategi komunikasi yang dijalankan tidak dapat satu persatu, melainkan harus dilakukan secara terintegrasi.
Berdasarkan penelitian ekuitas merek yang dibuat dapat diketahui bahwa ekuitas merek Nokia dinilai cukup tinggi di mata konsumennya, konsumen memiliki kesadaran merek yang tinggi atas merek Nokia, asosiasi merek Nokia diartikan sangat positif oleh para konsumen Nokia, persepsi kualitas produk Nokia juga dinilai cukup baik dan loyalitas konsumen terhadao Nokia juga sangat tinggi. Setelah hasil ekuitas merek ini diketahui maka selanjutnya penulis melakukan penelitian dengan menggunakan metode Analytical Network Process terhadap beberapa ahli yang terkait dengan strategi komunikasi pemasaran Nokia di Indonesia, guna untuk mengetahui strategi Integrated Marketing Communication seperti apa yang akan ditempuh oleh Nokia, karena dengan pemilihan strategi yang tepat maka akan mendorong ekuitas merek dan meningkatkan penjualan produk Nokia, namun pemilihan strategi yang tidak tepat dapat justru merusak ekuitas merek yang telah dibangun sebelumnya. Dari hasil penelitian terhadap strategi komunikasi Nokia, dapat diketahui bahwa Nokia memilih untuk tetap menjalankan keseluruhan aktivitas komunikasi yang terintegrasi namun dengan bobot yang berbeda, Nokia memilih untuk melakukan lebih banyak kegiatan komunikasi melalui strategi hubungan masyarakat karena hubungan masyarakat dinilai dapat menjadi sebuah senjata yang ampuh bagi Nokia untuk memperkenalkan atau menawarkan produk mereka secara lebih detail juga untuk terus menciptakan imaje yang balk terhadap merek Nokia. Selain itu Nokia juga memilih untuk terus menggunakan periklanan dalam berkomunikasi dengan para stake holdernya. Namun strategi komunikasi yang dijalankan oleh Nokia saat ini adalah merupakan strategi global dari Nokia pusat, Nokia menjalankan strategi yang same di setiap negara yang dituju. Hal ini dapat terlihat dengan setiap iklan yang dibuat oleh Nokia dan juga model hubungan masyarakat yang diterapkan dalam berkomunikasi.

The year-after-year growth of the numbers of producers as well as products of cellular telephone experiences high improvement. This has been supported by the effort of expanding the network as well as services performed by cellular telephone service providers in Indonesia. NOKIA as one of the cellular telephone producing companies has joined the crowd in order to liven up the said cellular telephone business competition. Due to the very high level of competition among the producers, some companies, including NOKIA, shall do efforts in order to stay firm in this kind of industry, and even become market leaders.
The producers with trademark equities and strong marks will be easily control the market, create new markets, where finally they will increase the companies' profits. During the research, the author has performed measurements upon the nark equity of Nokia through the elements of Mark Consciousness, Mark Association, Quality Perception, and mark Loyalty against 200 Nokia consumers in Jakarta, and also from the same research it's proven that the mark equity of Nokia is valued as quite high. From this valuation, Nokia is assumed to have power at one of its intangible assets, in that it may increase Nokia's attractiveness, and soon takes the consumers into consuming Nokia's products this year.
The said equity analysis on Nokia mark, besides being information or latest data, can also be used as the base for preparing a company's strategies and/or tactics, and one of them is the Integrated Marketing Communication strategy, which will be taken by Nokia, because Nokia needs more than just developing good products, promoting them with competitive prices, and letting them be easy to reach. Rather, Nokia should also communicate with the current existing Stakeholders as well as the potential ones, and people in general. In order to communicate effectively, the marketer needs to understand fundamental elements supporting an effective communication. The communication strategies applied shouldn't be performed one by one. Rather, they must be done an integrative way.
Based on the research of mark equity conducted, it's found that Nokia mark equity is valued highly by its consumers. The consumers have pretty high mark consciousness upon Nokia mark, Nokia mark association is interpreted positively by its consumers. The perception of quality of Nokia products is also valued as quiet good, and the consumers' loyalty against Nokia is also very high. After this mark equity result is known, the author then performed a research by using a method of Analytical Network Process against a number of experts involved in the communication strategy of Nokia marketing in Indonesia, in order to know the kind of Integrated Marketing Communication strategy Nokia is going to apply, because proper choice of strategy will. encourage mark equity and increase the sales of Nokia products, whereas improper choice of strategy will surely destroy the mark equity established before. From the results of the research on the Nokia communication strategy, it's known that Nokia has chosen to keep running the whole activity of integrated communication with different weightings. Nokia decides to perform more communication activities through public relation, because public relation is assumed to be able to act as an effective weapon for Nokia, in order to introduce or promote their products in more detail, and at the same time keeping on creating good image against Nokia mark. Besides this, Nokia also decides to go on with advertisements in communicating their Stakeholders. The current strategy conducted by Nokia is the global-strategy of Nokia Headquarter. Nokia performs similar strategy in every country of destination. This is seen clearly from every advertisement displayed by Nokia, as well as from the public relation model applied while communicating.

"Kondisi penyediaan listrik di Indonesia terlihat ironis. Terjadi kekurangan pasokan listrik di tengah beragamnya potensi sumber energi primer. Namun, PLN tidak dapat memilih sumber energi primer yang efisien seperti tenaga air dan energi panas bumi. Pilihan tersebut masih didominasi oleh bahan bakar fosil. PLN adalah satu-satunya penjual listrik kepada masyarakat dan juga pembeli tunggal listrik dari pemasok yang selanjutnya disebut sebagai perusahaan restricted monopoly. Penelitian ini berupaya mengungkap proses pengambilan keputusan strategis pemilihan jenis pembangkit oleh TMT PLN periode 1998 ndash;2014 dengan mengembangkan pendekatan strategic choices melalui metodologi kualitatif pada studi kasus tunggal.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teori-teori dasar manajemen stratejik yang ada selama ini, diantaranya: resource-based view, market-based view, agency theory dan shareholder theory tidak dapat diterapkan dalam konteks pengambilan keputusan strategis pada corporate strategy level untuk perusahaan seperti PLN yang sepenuhnya dimiliki negara sekaligus sebagai pemegang kuasa atas sumberdaya. Namun, kepemilikan saham oleh pemerintah ini terbagi pada kekuatan stakeholders utama lainnya yang memiliki kedudukan yang sama dalam pemerintahan dengan kepentingannya masing-masing atau mempunyai three masters under one shareholder. Dengan kondisi tersebut, pengambilan keputusan PLN dihadapkan pada konflik kepentingan diantara tiga master tersebut, keterbatasan keuangan perusahaan, beragam bentuk pengawasan dari pemerintah, dan dinamika percaturan politik. Selain itu, dipertimbangkan pula perencanaan strategis bauran energi primer yang dilihat dari perkiraan kebutuhan listrik, kebijakan energi nasional, serta ketersediaan energi primer.
Implikasi hasil penelitian diarahkan pada pengembangan teori pada ilmu manajemen stratejik di perusahaan publik dengan memperluas keterkaitan antara strategic management dengan political economy. Kompleksitas peran negara yang diwakili oleh tiga institusi dalam pengelolaan sumberdaya secara strategis menimbulkan ketidakpastian keberlanjutan penyediaan listrik jangka panjang. Meskipun demikian, bagaimana cara paling sesuai untuk pengelolaan BUMN seperti ini dari sudut pandang ilmu manajemen stratejik akan menjadi tantangan untuk didalami lebih lanjut.

In Indonesia, electricity supply condition looks ironic. There has been a shortage of electricity supply amid diverse primary energy resources. However, PLN cannot perform on the choice of the efficient primary energy resources like hydro and geothermal energy. It is still dominated by fossil fuel. PLN is the sole seller of electricity to the public as well as the single buyer from suppliers hereinafter referred to as a restricted monopoly company. This research attempts to reveal the strategic decision making process of choosing the type of power plants by PLN TMT of 1998 2014 periods with developing strategic choices approach through qualitative methodology on a single case study.
The result of this research shows that basic theories of strategic management that exist so far, including resource based view, market based view, agency theory and shareholder theory cannot be applied in the context of strategic decision making at the corporate strategy level for such companies as PLN, which is fully owned by the state as well as the holder of resources. However, ownership by the government is divided on the power of other major stakeholders who have the same position in the government with their own interests or having three masters under one the shareholder.Under these conditions, decision making by PLN faced with a conflict of interests among the three masters, limited financial capacity to invest, various forms of government supervision, and the dynamics of political arena. In addition, it is also taken into consideration the strategic planning of primary energy mix that viewed from estimation of electricity demand in accordance with customer load behavior and generation technologies, national energy policy that still requires General Plan on National Energy RUEN in order to integrate the energy management plan by the state and the Electricity Supply Business Plan by PLN, as well as the availability of primary energy to fulfill electricity needs in the long term.
Finally, the implication of this research is directed to reinforce of thought in developing the theory on the science of strategic management in public companies especially those that doing business in the electricity sector by extending the linkages between strategic management with political economy. The complexities of the state role as represented by three institutions in managing resource strategically lead to uncertainty of the electricity supply sustainability. Nevertheless, how the most appropriate way to manage the state owned enterprises like this from the perspective of strategic management will be challenging to be explored further.

"Strategic Management has been widely discussed in the context of competitive advantage building a fundamental need by firms for competition Competitive advantage of a firm may be reached by implementing distinguished strategies where its resources and capabilities are leveraged to overcome extemal environment forces. Strategic decision works at the operational level of strategy implementation. Strategic decision is getting more relevant for an industry risking massive capital and requiring high technology in environment uncertainties like oil and gas industry.
This research has surveyed upstream oil and gas business segment of PT Medcol-Energi International Tbk to study the roles of ?strategic decision? thru ?asset portfolio management", ?operational success?, and ?financial risk management? tasks that have influences to its company?s performances. MedcoEnergi is a holding company which has several entities in its portfolio. Underneath the parent's company consists of business units and assets portfolio. Strategic decision consequently should occupy either at corporate level or at business level. Organizational structure, executive paradigms, functional perspective integration dimensions should have shaped the strategic decisions.
This study addresses three main questions. First, do the strategic decision roles effects on company?s perfonnances thru asset portfolio management. Second, do the strategic decision roles effects on company?s performances thru operational success. Third, do strategic decision roles effects on oompany's performances thru financial risk management. In making strategic decision "organizational structure", "executive paradigm", and "functional perspective" dimensions are measured.
A survey was conducted in MedcoEnergi group companies to measure the roles of strategic decision in achieving its performances through asset portfolio management, operational success, and inancial risk management. Questionnaires were distributed along to samples under criteria reaching 55 respondents across the organizational structures, job positions, and job unit so the profiles has represented strategic decision makers and supporter around the group that focused on up stream oil and gas industry.
The results indicate that strategic decision has not been accordingly practiced to support asset portfolio management but slightly support operational success and financial risk management which remarked by insignificant relationship among the variables. As conclusion, the performance within the time name surveyed of MedocEnergi generated from its up stream oil and gas exploration and development business segment not appeared to reach its optimality.
This study should make important contributions which would promote the importance of further research of strategic decision roles in the up stream oil and gas industry as a whole. The Endings here offer to practice strategic decision in tackling strategic issues such as to manage portfolio of assets (proved reserves), to manage operational success more sharply, to manage financial risk more expanded to capability of the companies to reduce risks. By having those issues considered through strategic decision, the company's? performances would be expected higher than current level."

"Salah satu peran paling penting pemimpin perusahaan adalah menghasilkan keputusan stratejik yang efektif. Keputusan stratejik yang dihasilkan akan menentukan tingkat daya saing perusahaan di dalam industri. Telah diketahui secara luas bahwa kepercayaan dan kolaborasi antar Top Management Team (TMT) memberikan dampak penting terhadap proses pengambilan keputusan stratejik. Selain itu juga diketahui bahwa proses pengambilan keputusan secara rasional komprehensif akan menentukan efektivitas keputusan yang dibuat oleh TMT.
Tujuan dari riset ini adalah mempelajari bagaimana hubungan kepercayaan dan kolaborasi antar anggota TMT terhadap seberapa komprehensif proses pengambilan keputusan yang mereka lakukan. Studi empiris telah dilakukan dengan mengembangkan model penelitian bagaimana proses pengambilan keputusan stratejik dilakukan di perusahaan tambang di Indonesia. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan Structural Equation Model (SEM) untuk menganalisa 267 responden yang mewakili perusahaan tambang, baik perusahaan tambang Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN) maupun perusahaan tambang swasta.
Penelitian menemukan bahwa TMT Collaboration menjadi mediator dari TMT Trust terhadap proses pengambilan keputusan yang rasional komprehensif. Untuk membuat proses pengambilan keputusan yang efektif, TMT harus memiliki kepercayaan dan kolaborasi yang tinggi antar mereka. Selain itu, proses pengambilan keputusan harus dilakukan secara komprehensif baik prosesnya maupun pembahasan isi keputusan yang akan dibuat.

Studi ini memberikan kontribusi kepada dunia akademis khususnya di bidang pembuatan keputusan stratejik. Temuan penelitian tentang hubungan TMT Trust dan TMT Collaboration terhadap pengambilan keputusan secara komprehensif baik proses dan pembahasan isi (Content) akan memperkaya literatur bagaimana meningkatkan kinerja organisasi dengan melakukan proses pengambilan keputusan yang optimal dan efektif. Kontribusi manajerial dihasilkan dari model proses pengambilan keputusan stratejik yang optimal yang dapat diterapkan di perusahaan untuk meningkatkan kinerja organisasi.


One of the most important roles of top management in the organization is how effective the strategic decision they make. The strategic decision will determine the competitiveness of the company in the industry. It is widely known that trust and collaboration of Top Management Team (TMT) generates positive impacts in the strategic decision making process. It is also known that rational process determines the effectiveness of decision that been made by TMT.
The aim of this research is to study the relations between TMT’s trust and collaboration toward rational comprehensive on strategic decision making process. An empirical study has been undertaken to develop a model on how to make the effective strategic decision making process for mining companies. This study utilizes Structural Equation Model (SEM) Lisrel methodology to analyze 267(two-hundred and sixty-seven) respondents representing mining companies in Indonesia.
This study has found that TMT collaboration being a mediator of TMT trust to rational strategic decision making. To develop an effective strategic decision making process, TMT must possess a high trust and collaboration, as well as a high process and content comprehensiveness.
This study contributes to existing literature on strategic management, especially the strategic decision making. The finding generated from TMT trust and collaboration relation to comprehensiveness process and content will certainly enrich the literature on how to improve organizational performance by means of conducting optimal and effective strategic decision making process. The insight produced from this study will provide managerial advise by proposing an optimal model of strategic decision making process that could boost company performance.

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat dampak kebijakan publik dalam hal ini kebijakan upah minimum terhadap kinerja perusahaan sektor industri padat karya serta tindakan yang direncanakan oleh perusahaan agar kinerja perusahaan tetap tumbuh. Kenaikan upah minimum yang tinggi dan tidak dapat terprediksi membuat perusahaan harus merencanakan keputusan untuk melakukan perubahan, perencanaan tersebut mengadopsi Theory of Planned Behavior yang di implementasikan dalam Strategic Decision Making. Attitude to Paying Minimum Wage, Interest Group Pressure yaitu serikat pekerja, pemerintah, konsumen; dan Projected Law Enforcement atas peraturan ketenagakerjaan; mendorong keinginan perusahaan untuk mengubah Intention to Change strategi perusahaan dan kemudian mengambil keputusan untuk melakukan perubahan Decision to Change dengan organizational downsizing, relocation dan penggunaan teknologi untuk meningkatkan efisiensi perusahaan.Penelitian dilakukan terhadap 206 perusahaan industri padat karya dengan jumlah karyawan minimal 100 orang setiap perusahaan, pengolahan data menggunakan Structural Equation Modelling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Attitude to Paying Minimum Wage dan Interest Group Pressure berpengaruh positif terhadap Intention to Change dari perusahaan, sedangkan Projected Law Enforcement tidak berpengaruh terhadap Intention to Change perusahaan. Intention to Change perusahaan berpengaruh positif terhadap Decision to Change, dan ternyata Decision to Change berpengaruh negatif terhadap kinerja perusahaan untuk jangka waktu tertentu karena biaya untuk melakukan perubahan cukup tinggi. Kontribusi teoritikal penelitian ini adalah menggabungkan teori psikologi dengan teori strategic management dan melakukan investigasi penerapan multi behavior pada level perusahaan. Implikasi praktikal bagi perusahaan adalah untuk merencanakan perubahan strategi terkait efisiensi biaya ketenagakerjaan secara matang karena biaya perubahan yang tinggi dan bagi pemerintah agar berhati-hati dalam menentukan kebijakan upah minimum karena akan berdampak tidak saja pada penyerapan tenaga kerja namun juga berkurangnya industri padat karya

This research is aimed to observe the impacts of public policy in this case, the minimum wage policy, towards the performances of companies in labor-intensive industry sector, and the measures planned by those companies to maintain performance growth. The high and unpredictable increase of minimum wage force the companies to plan and change their strategy. This study is combining strategic management and the theory of Planned Behavior to asses company Strategic Decision Making that consist of organizational downsizing, relocation and use of technology to increase efficiency.This research is conducted to 206 labor intensive companies in the industry with minimum employees of 100 persons. The data processing is done using Structural Equation Modeling. The result shows that Attitude to Paying Minimum Wage and Interest Group Pressure have positive impacts towards Intention to Change of the companies, while Projected Law Enforcement has no bearing whatsoever towards Intention to Change. Companies rsquo; Intention to Change has positive impacts towards the Decision to Change. The Decision to Change of organizational downsizing, relocation and use of technology to increase efficiency turns out to have negative impacts on performances for a certain length of time, due to the costs required to do those changes are quite high. Theoretical contribution from this research comes from the combination of psychological theory and strategic management theory and the investigation of multi behavior implementations at company level. Practical implications for the companies comes in the form of the changing of strategic plan due to the efficiency of labor cost and the high cost of changing investment. In determining minimum wage policy, Government should have careful thought because it is not only have an impact on labor absorption but also likely decreasing in labor intensive industries."
