"Penelitian ini menggali pengalaman pasien hipertensi yang menjalani terapi alternatif komplementer bekam. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kualitatif fenomenologi deskriptif terhadap pasien hipertensi yang menjalani terapi bekam. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam. Metode Colaizzi digunakan dalam analisis data. Tema penelitian yang ditemukan adalah gambaran penyakit hipertensi, gambaran terapi bekam, efek terapi bekam, proses pengambilan keputusan memilih terapi bekam, alasan menjalani terapi bekam dan harapan menjalani terapi bekam. Pengalaman pasien hipertensi yang menjalani terapi bekam bervariasi dan unik. Hasil rekomendasi dari penelitian ini perlunya perawat sebagai praktisi terapi bekam dan dijadikan sebagai salah satu pelayanan keperawatan yang diberikan kepada masyarakat.

This research explores the experience of patients with hypertension who undergone complementary and alternative therapies: cupping therapy. This study used descriptive phenomenological qualitative design for patients with hypertension who undergone cupping therapy. Data were obtained through indepth interviews. Colaizzi method used in data analysis process. The result show that five themes found in this study was the description of hypertension, overview of cupping therapy, cupping therapy effects, decision-making process for choosing cupping therapy, reason and expectation of performing cupping therapy. The experience of patients with hypertension who undergone cupping therapy were variety and unique. The result of recommendations from this study as the need for nurse practitioners serve as the cupping therapy and one nursing services provided to the public."

"Terapi Bekam merupakan salah satu bentuk pelayanan pengobatan tradisional yang saat ini banyak menjadi alternatif pengobatan bagi kalangan bawah.Tesis ini membahas tentang aspek keselamatan pasien dari efek terapi yang bisa saja terjadi sebagai akibat kompetensi terapis yang belum memenuhi prosedur pelaksanaan baku terapi. Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif (cross sectional study).Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa terapi bekam pada prinsipnya tidak menimbulkan efek negatif terhadap tubuh dan aman diberikan kepada manusia. Namun masih perlu diberikan pembinaan terutama dalam kompetensi para terapis karena masih terjadi kesenjangan dalam hal pendidikan dasar dan pendidikan ketrampilan bekam yang dimiliki. Para terapis juga harus memiliki wadah organisasi yang legal diakui oleh Lembaga pemerintah terkait.

Cupping therapy is a form of traditional medicine services currently most viable alternative for the treatment of the lower classes.

This thesis discusses aspects of the therapeutic effect of patient safety that could occur as a result of therapist competence that do not meet the treatment standard operating procedures. This study is a qualitative descriptive design (cross sectional study).

The study concluded that cupping therapy, in principle, no negative effects on the body and safely administered to humans. But still needs to be given guidance, especially in the competence of the therapist as it is still a gap in basic education and vocational education held bruise. The therapist also must have a legal umbrella organization recognized by the relevant government agency."
