The technique of measuring the profile of the surface of a three dimensional object shape is by using structured-light technique, where the object to be measured is placed on flat surface. The source of the light controlled by a fixed pattern at a certain distance and angle is directed to the object. By placing a grating pattern between the object to be measured and the source of the light, so the grating pattern will be projected on the object and then will form an interferometric fringes. An image resulted from the projecting process is recorded through a camera which produces analog signal, and then is changed into digital image using analog to digital converter. The data of the digital image resulted is analysed by using computer. The spherical equation of the object to be measured without placing the object on flat surface can be determined by using the least-square method then by using data samples of light lines projected on the object, the light of the object can be measured by substracting the spherical component of the object measured. By doing so the whole shape of a three-dimensional object can be determined using interpolation.

The first edition of Visualization in medicine and life sciences (VMLS) emerged from a workshop convened to explore the significant data visualization challenges created by emerging technologies in the life sciences. The workshop and the book addressed questions of whether medical data visualization approaches can be devised or improved to meet these challenges, with the promise of ultimately being adopted by medical experts. Visualization in Medicine and Life Sciences II follows the second international VMLS workshop, held in Bremerhaven, Germany, in July 2009. Internationally renowned experts from the visualization and driving application areas came together for this second workshop. The book presents peer-reviewed research and survey papers which document and discuss the progress made, explore new approaches to data visualization, and assess new challenges and research directions.

Composite sandwich constructions are very widely employed in the modern aircraft industry, honeycomb panels among them. The principal defects of honeycomb sandwiches are cover detachment because of cell collapse or poor adhesive, which can lead to water penetration in cells. Recently, the thermal method of non-destructive testing (infrared thermography) has begun to be applied to the diagnostics of honeycomb constructions, and has some advantages over traditional methods. However, thermal processes are transient, and this complicates the selection of optimal parameters for monitoring. The purpose of this work is to investigate the possibilities of the thermal method for honeycomb panel inspection using computer simulation. The COMSOL Multiphysics package was used for the simulations. A 3D model of the honeycomb panel was proposed, and two possible defects considered: the detachment of the panel cover from the filler and the presence of water in the defective cell. The implementation of the proposed 3D model made it possible to investigate the effect of a defect on the thermal field of the panel surface. The simulation results showed that optimal testing time is significantly different for various types of panels. The correct selection of testing parameters increases the accuracy of the testing procedure. The results of experimental investigation confirmed the adequacy of the proposed model for thermal testing.

The focus of this study is on evaluating three dimensional model as a learning tool for unilateal labioplasty using fisher technique. This study aim to evaluate the experience in preoperative marking of unilateral cleft lip repair on three-dimensional model compared to two-dimensional model. An experimental study conducted using randomized sampling to measure the anatomical accuracy and satisfaction of pre operative marking of unilateral cleft lip repair  using fisher modification technique on three dimensional model over two dimensional model. Result shows that three dimensional model could be used as an efficient single learning tools to have the same level of perceptive and understanding of the design points. Further research should evaluate the effectivenes of this learning tool by assessing its accuracy result in real patients.

Abstrak :
Dengan berlakunya Undang-Undang No. 20 Tahun 2016, hukum merek Indonesia memperluas perlindungan merek, mencakup komponen baru yaitu bentuk tiga-dimensi. ......With the enactment of Law no. 20 of 2016, Indonesia's trademark law expands its protection of trademarks, including a new mark component, namely three-dimensional shapes. However, the trademark laws and regulations that were implemented after that, did not regulate further on the new recognized component, causing the protection of this concept still vague. On the other hand, three-dimensional marks protection in the U.S. has existed long before Indonesia and the component lies under a special concept called trade dress. This research analyzes, firstly, three-dimensional mark indicators in Indonesia which are not elaborated in the prevailing trademark laws and regulations in Indonesia. Second, this study compares the three-dimensional marks protection in Indonesia and U.S., from the aspect of regulatory frameworks and practices, with hope that the extent of three-dimensional marks protection in Indonesia will be discovered from the point of view of U.S. trade dress. Third, the values that Indonesia can learn from the U.S. trade dress concept for the benefit of the public in the future. This research uses normative legal research on written legal norms. An interview with trademark examiner of the Directorate General of Intellectual Property was conducted to provide an overview of the discrepancy between the practice and written regulations regarding three-dimensional marks. The conclusion of this research is that the prevailing written regulations of three-dimensional marks in Indonesia is far from the actual practice. In practice, the protection of the mark has developed greatly, and its implementation is mostly inspired by the practices abroad, especially the U.S. Thus, it can be asserted that the Indonesian three-dimensional mark is equivalent with the trade dress concept. However, mostly the practice is carried out without any written regulations; it is solely based on the authority of the authorized officials or from the tendency that have been implemented so far.
