"Latar Belakang: Tipe pemhedahan pada kanker tiroid papiler masih menjadi kontroversi. Multisentrisitas adalah salah satu alasan yang mendukung dilakukannya tiroidektomi total. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui frekuensi multisentrisitas kanker tiroid papiler di RSUPN Cipto Mangunkusumo serta faktor-faktor prediktif yang dapat memperkirakan adanya lesi multisentrisitas pada seorang pasien kanker tiroid papiler.Subyek dan Metode: Penelitian dilakukan secara cross-sectional retrospektif terhadap data pasien yang menjalani completion thyroidectomy di RSUPN Cipto Mangunkusumo dari tahun 2004 sampai dengan 2009. Enam puluh dari 71 pasien dengan data yang lengkap dievaluasi usia, jenis kelamin. tipe pembedahan operasi pertama, interval operasi, komplikasi, dan hasil histopatologi lobus kontralateral. Basil Frekuensi multisentrisitas kanker tiroid papiler di RSUPN Cipto Mangunkusumo didapatkan sebanyak 63,3%. Usia, jenis kelamin, serta subtipe histopatologi tumor tidak dapat dijadikan sebagai faktor-faktor prediktif terjadinya multisentrisitas (p > 0,05). Komplikasi yang terjadi herupa hipokalsemia (36,6%) dan suara serak (3,3%).Kesimpulan: Frekuensi multisentrisitas kanker tiroid papiler di RSUPN Cipto Mangunkusumo cukup tinggi sehingga sebaiknya completion thyroidectomy dilakukan tanpa melihat kelompok risiko pasien. Completion thyroidectomy merupakan prosedur yang aman dengan heberapa komplikasi yang terjadi. Tidak ada variahel yang dapat dijadikan faktor prediktif terjadinya lesi multisentrisitas pada seorang pasien kanker tiroid papiler."
