"ABSTRAKLiberalisasi perdagangan telah menyebabkan penurunan tarif secara umum. Penurunan tarif tersebut dapat membawa keuntungan, yaitu pemakaian bahan baku impor menjadi relatif lebih murah. Namun juga di satu sisi, penurunan tarif mengakibatkan produsen manufakur Indonesia menghadapi peningkatan persaingan produk impor. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh dari liberalisasi perdagangan terhadap produktivitas sektor manufaktur. Produktivitas diukur dengan Total Faktor Produksi (TFP), dan sektor yang dijadikan objek studi adalah 10 sub-sektor manufaktur yang memiliki kontribusi terbesar terhadap GDP. Tarif barang secara signifikan berkorelasi positif dan tarif bahan baku berkorelasi negatif dalam mempengaruhi produktivitas sektor manufaktur. Penurunan tarif secara umum berdampak meningkatkan produktivitas, dengan pengaruh penurunan tarif input terhadap produktivitas lebih besar daripada pengaruh tarif output.

ABSTRACTTrade liberalization has led to tariff reductions in general. The tariff reduction may be beneficial to producer through the relatively cheaper access of imported raw materials. On the other hand, the disadvantage effect of tariff reduction is it induces higher import competition for domestic producers. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of trade liberalization on the productivity of the manufacturing sector. Total Factor Productivity (TFP) is used as the proxy for productivity measures. The object of this study is the 10 manufacturing sub-sectors that has the largest contribution to GDP in the manufacturing sector. The study result that tariff reduction positively correlated meanwhile input tariff is negatively correlated in affecting productivity of the manufacturing sector. Tariff reductions in general will improve productivity, where the influence of input tariff reduction on productivity is greater than the effect of output tariff rates."
