Abstrak :
Online tutorials as a form of student services is expected to contribute to the success of student learning. This article written based on the research of the tutorial activities of strategic management courses (EKMA4414) and students learning outcomes in the registration period of 2009.1 at UPBJJ-UT Batam. Data were collected using purposive sampling of 167 students registered in the tutorial. Result were analyzed descriptively. The result showed that the initiation of online tutorials materials of strategic management course were generally in line with course objectives. However the presentation is said to be less systematically delivered by most students. This causes some students to not actively engaged in the tutorial and do the exercises and tasks. However, for students who are actively following tutorial by participating in discussion and exercises, their activities contribute to the final grade.

ABSTRACT
Universitas terbuka is one of university in Indonesia that implement a remote and open learning system. Learning distance requirements are not carried out by using media, both print (module) and non-print (audio/video, computer/internet, radio broadcasting, and television). To serve students spread throughout Indonesia, excellent service is required. UT continues to increase its commitment to promoting academic quality and one of the academic qualities that need to be improved is the learning process where in the learning process there are general service aspects, aspects of registration services, tutorial service aspects, either TTM tutorials or online tutorials (TUTON), practicum services, services teaching materials, Online Bookstore services (TBO), SIPAS services and aspects of service for administering examinations. This study is intended to determine the level of satisfaction of students, especially D2 Library students of FISIP-UT Library, to the services provided by UT. The method used is quantitative and qualitative methods. The results of the assessment of satisfaction and importance are ≥ 50% of students are satisfied and feel an interest in the various services provided by UT.

Kepuasan mahasiswa akan tutorial tatap muka (TTM) sangat dipengaruhi oleh kualitas layanan yang diberikan oleh pegawai UPBJJ-UT Kupang dan tutor. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: pertama, gambaran kualitas layanan TTM secara umum di UPBJJ-UT Kupang. Kedua, Aspek-aspek layanan TTM yang perlu diperbaiki agar pelayanan dapat ditingkatkan sesuai dengan yang diharapkan oleh mahasiswa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara menyebarkan kuesioner ke sejumlah mahasiswa dalam rangka untuk menilai dan membandingkan antara kualitas layanan yang diharapkan (expected service) dan yang dirasakan (perceived service) oleh mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masih terdapat aspek-aspek layanan TTM yang harus diperbaiki oleh UPBJJ-UT dan tutor. Penelitian ini menyajikan suatu analisis akan pengujian kualitas layanan dari sisi mahasiswa. ......Student's satisfaction of face-to-face tutorial (TTM) is influenced by the quality of services that the staffs of the Kupang Regional Centre and tutor give. The aim of this research is to find out: first, the quality of TTM services at the Kupang Regional Centre. Second, what aspects of services that needs to be improved in accordance with the student's satisfaction. Data gathered by spreading questionnaires to the students in order to evaluate and compare between students' expected services and students' perceived services. The research result shows that there are aspects of TTM services that need to be improved by the Regional Centre and tutor. This research presents an analysis of assessment of the quality of services from the student's point of view.

this article aims at describing the essay, how to compose them, and how to use scoring rubric or scoring criteria in assessing the students answers. there are some advantages and disadvantages of these tests. the main advantage because of its function to know about testee's competences in higher level thinking, such as: to analyze, to interpret, to sinthesize, to evaluate, and to predict something. this test is also effective in assessing complex learning outcomes, relatively easy to construct, and guessing is eliminated on the contrary it is difficult to be scored objectively because there is no common set of criteria for all students in essay tests, scores are as unreliable, well as effect or personal judgement, which can be catagorized as the disadvantages of essay test. to prevent the disadvantages, evaluates may use "the guidelines for writing clear essay questions "such as using keywords to specify thinking process, stating requirements clearly, indicate response length expected, setting time limits, and giving weights to questions. evaluators can also make scoring rubric to assess students answers to avoid unreliabilities.
