Abstrak :
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 10th International Conference on Pervasive Computing, Pervasive 2012, held in Newcastle, UK, in June 2012. The 28 revised papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 138 submissions. The contributions are grouped into the following topical sections, activity capturing, urban mobility and computing, home and energy, HCI, development tools and devices, indoor location and positioning, social computing and games, privacy, public displays and services.

Abstrak :
The main focus of this book has been to explore how ambient intelligence can contribute towards smarter but still more sustainable environments. Beyond sustainable computing the proceedings also include research work describing progress on other key research topics for AmI such as human environment mobile-mediated (through NFC or AR) interaction, artificial intelligence techniques to foster user- and context-aware environment adaptation, future internet trends such as social networks analysis, linked data or crowd-sourcing applied to AmI, internet-connected object ecosystems collaborating to give place to smarter environments.

This book constitutes the joint thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of the Second International Workshop on Modeling Social Media, MSM 2011, held in Boston, MA, USA, in October 2011, and the Second International Workshop on Mining Ubiquitous and Social Environments, MUSE 2011, held in Athens, Greece, in September 2011. The 9 full papers included in the book are revised and significantly extended versions of papers submitted to the workshops. They cover a wide range of topics organized in three main themes, communities and networks in ubiquitous social media, mining approaches, and issues of user modeling, privacy and security.

This book addresses the challenge within the context of an educational and cultural experience. This is inherently a multidisciplinary field and the contributions span the related research aspects, including system architecture and communications issues, and intelligent user interface aspects such as aesthetics and privacy. On the scientific side, the authors integrate artificial intelligence, user modeling, temporal and spatial reasoning, intelligent user interfaces, and user-centric design methodologies in their work, while on the technological side they integrate mobile and wireless networking infrastructures, interfaces, group displays, and context-driven adaptive presentations.

The papers cover a wide range of topics, such as ubiquitous computing and organizations, cloud computing and architectures, grid computing, human-computer interfaces, serious games, data mining, Web services, cognitive systems, social networks and other emergent IT/IS approaches in various function domains, such as decision support systems, planning, design, control, negotiation, marketing, management and many other, in the context of virtual and networked enterprises and organizations.

The goal of this book is to provide a state the art of trustworthy ubiquitous computing to address recent research results and to present and discuss the ideas, theories, technologies, systems, tools, applications and experiences on all theoretical and practical issues.

Abstrak :
Decentralized reasoning in ambient intelligence proposes a decentralized reasoning approach for performing rule-based reasoning about context data targeting AmI systems. For this purpose, the authors define a context model assuming context data distributed over two sides, the user side, represented by the users and their mobile devices, and the ambient side, represented by the fixed computational infrastructure and ambient services. They formalize the cooperative reasoning operation in which two entities cooperate to perform decentralized rule-based reasoning and define a complete process to perform this operation.

Abstrak :
This book constitutes the carefully refereed post-conference proceedings of two International Workshops: Self-Managing Solutions for Smart Environments, S3E 2011; and the workshop on Health and Well-being Technologies and Services for Elderly, HWTS 2011; as well as a Doctoral Colloquium, held in conjunction with, GPC 2011, in Oulu, Finland, in May 2011. The 19 revised full papers presented together with 1 keynote lecture were carefully revised and selected from 26 submissions and focus on the topics self-managing solutions for smart environments; health and well-being technologies, and services for elderly. The topics of the doctoral colloquium papers had a wide scope and they represented different viewpoints and sub-disciplines inside the ICT field.

Perangkat dalam lingkungan ubiquitous memiliki memori dan daya proses yang terbatas, sehingga mereka tidak dapat menyediakan layanan secara utuh bahkan dalam lokasi yang tepat sekalipun.Teknologi mobile agent dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi sumber daya. Tujuan dari paper ini adalah untuk melihat penerapan teknologi mobile agent pada lokasi berbasis layanan printer. Sistem ini terdiri dari empat bagian: (1) mobile agent server, (2) lokasi yang berbasiskan layanan server, (3) layanan printer, (4) klien. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa mobile agent menawarkan banyak keuntungan untuk pengaturan komputasi ubiquitous dan mobile.

Most devices in ubiquitous network environment have limited memory and processing power, thus they can’t provide all services even when in suitable locations. Mobile agent technology could be implemented to improve resource efficiency. The goal of this paper is to implement mobile agent technology for location-based printer service. The system consists of four parts: (1) mobile agent server, (2) location-based service server, (3) printer service, (4) client. It is observed that mobile agent offers many advantages for ubiquitous and mobile computing settings.

Also included are 4 papers presented at the 2012 International Workshop on Mobile Cloud and Ubiquitous Computing (Mobi-Cloud 2012) held in conjunction with GPC 2012.
