"Terpecahnya Uni Soviet mengembalikan harapan dan semangat para bangsa yang sebelumnya kehilangan nasionalitas dan potensi dalam diri mereka. Perintah deportasi yang dikeluarkan oleh Iosif Stalin merupakan salah satu peristiwa paling signifikan dalam sejarah imigran dan diaspora masyarakat. Kelompok etnis Turki Meskhetia adalah kelompok minoritas yang sebagian besar terkena pengaruh dari deportasi tersebut. Atas dukungan komunitas masyarakat Vatan yang didirikan oleh orang Turki Meskhetia itu sendiri, secara berangsur bangsa tersebut perlahan kembali ke tanah kelahiran mereka yaitu Georgia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji permasalahan kewarganegaraan dalam proses repatriasi kelompok etnis Turki Meskhetia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksploratif yang mengeksplorasi berbagai aspek dalam permasalahan repatriasi kelompok Turki Meskhetia tersebut. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah diketahui selama dua puluh tahun terakhir sekitar 5.000 orang Turki Meskhetia berhasil mendapatkan kependudukan mereka di Georgia, dan sebagian menetap di beberapa negara di sekitarnya.

The breakup of the Soviet Union restored hope and vigor to nations that had previously lost their nationality and potential. The deportation order issued by Iosif Stalin was one of the most significant events in the history of immigrant and diasporic peoples. The Meskhetian Turks were a minority group that was largely affected by the deportations. With the support of the Vatan community, which was founded by the Meskhetian Turks themselves, the nation gradually returned to their homeland of Georgia. The purpose of this research is to examine the citizenship issues in the repatriation process of the Meskhetian Turk ethnic group. The research method used in this study is an explorative method that explores various aspects of the repatriation problem of the Meskhetian Turkish group. The result of this research is that it is known that for the last twenty years around 5,000 Meskhetian Turks managed to get their residency in Georgia, and some settled in several surrounding countries."
