Abstrak :
Wireless power transmission is being investigated as a means to operate tiny medical devices such as the capsular endoscope, which is able to exist for a long period during diagnostic procedures within the body. In this paper, we examine the wireless power transmission to a capsular endoscope by electromagnetic waves to show its usability for medical applications. A modified helical antenna inside the endoscope is proposed as a power receiving antenna, operating at 915 MHz. By calculating a maximum received power in the stomach using such antenna, the results show that adequate power can be well received.

Abstrak :
Transmisi kabel yang digunakan saat ini telah mengalami perkembangan yang sangat pesat. Akan tetapi perkembangan tersebut menyebabkan sistem transmisi kabel memiliki banyak kendala dan permasalahan di masa mendatang. Transmisi nirkabel yang menggunakan gelombang elektromagnetik untuk melakukan transfer energi mampu menjawab permasalahan-permasalahan sistem transmisi kabel tersebut. Salah satu jenis transmisi energi nirkabel sederhana adalah kumparan tesla yang mampu menghasilkan energi yang berlipat ganda. Berdasarkan kemampuannya untuk mengatasi permasalahan transmisi kabel tersebut sehingga dibutuhkan suatu penelitian dan pemahaman terhadap operasi kerja kumparan tesla melalui perubahan parameter-parameter khususnya penyetelan frekuensi, perubahan kapasitansi primer dan lebar celah udara demi memahami sistem transmisi masa depan.

Wire power transmission which we are using today is growing rapidly. However, the system development has shown us that wire transmission systems will have many constraints and problems in the future. Wireless power transmission which uses electromagnetic waves to transfer energy, can provides the solutions to these wire transmission problems. One simple type of wireless energy transmission is a Tesla Coil that can transmit power with high frequency and overunity gain. Based on its ability to overcome the wire transmission problems, makes it urgent for further research about its characteristics and parameters effect especially frequency tuning, primary capacitance and spark gap length to the Tesla Coil operation to give us an understanding about our future transmission system.
