"The presentstudy investigated the mechanical properties and microstructure of ultrafinegrained (UFG) brass processed by four passes of equal channel angular pressing(ECAP) and annealed at elevated temperatures. The mechanical properties of allsamples were assessed using tensile and micro-hardness tests. Microstructureanalysis was performed using optical microscopy (OM) and scanning electronmicroscopy (SEM). Ultimate tensile strengths (UTS) and yield strengths (YS) of878 and 804 MPa, respectively, ductility of 15%, and hardness of 248 HV wereobtained for samples processed by four passes of ECAP with equivalent truestrain of 4.20. Annealing at 300°C caused UTS and YS to decrease significantly,to 510 and 408 MPa, respectively, ductility to increase to 28%, and hardness todecrease to 165 HV. Fractography analysis of un-annealed samples after fourECAP passes showed small brittle fractures with shallow dimpling. Ductilefailures were found on annealed samples. After four ECAP passes, themicrostructure of un-annealed samples was UFG and dominated by lamellar grainwith shear band. In contrast, after annealing, the microstructure changed dueto recrystallization, showing nucleation and grain growth."

"Penurunan fungsi kognitif merupakan salah satu masalah umum pada lansia yang mampu mempengaruhi kualitas hidup mereka. Musik merupakan sebuah elemen yang dipercaya mampu berkontribusi terhadap kualitas hidup mereka. Meski demikian, hubungan antara aktivitas musikal yang dilakukan sepanjang hidup dan fungsi kognitif lansia belum diketahui secara pasti. Dalam upaya mencari faktor-faktor yang mampu mendukung penuaan optimal, dilakukan sebuah penelitian untuk mencari tahu hubungan antara aktivitas musikal sepanjang hidup dan fungsi kognitif. Dilakukan survey pada 53 lansia penghuni panti tresna werdha di wilayah Jakarta Timur dengan mengukur fungsi kognitif dan riwayat aktivitas musikal sepanjang hidupnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya asosiasi antara aktivitas musikal sepanjang hidup dan fungsi kognitif lansia. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa lansia yang tidak melakukan aktivitas musikal sepanjang hidupnya dua kali lebih berpeluang untuk mengalami gangguan fungsi kognitif (OR adjusted = 2,0, 95% CI: 0,6 - 7,1).

Decreasing cognitive function of the elderly is one of the most common problems that might affect their quality of life. Music is an element that is believed to be able to contribute to quality of life of the elderly. However, whether musical activities that are done throughout the life span related to cognitive function is unclear.

In an attempt to identify certain factors that may potentially enhance optimal ageing, we evaluated the association between lifetime musical activities and cognitive function. A survey was conducted to fifty three older adults from three nursing homes in East Jakarta regarding their cognitive function and lifetime musical activities.

The results revealed that an association between lifetime musical activities and cognitive function of the elderly was indicated. The results also showed that the elderly who didn't do musical activities during their lifetime were twice more likely to develop cognitive function impairment (OR adjusted=2,0, 95% CI: 0,6 - 7,1)."
