Hal ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui secara aktual pengaruh emisi gas buang ataupun noise, dan untuk mendapatkan perubahan total rata-rata emisi yang dikeluarkan akibat penambahan aditif tersebut. Namun demikian pengolahan data menjadi suatu hal yang penting dalam menarik kesimpulan dari pengujian tersebut.
