Penelitian ini bertujuan mempelajari determinan yang mempengaruhi pemilihan tipe institusi pendidikan tinggi dengan menggunakan data Susenas tahun 2012. Variabel jenjang, beasiswa, memiliki akses internet, rasio biaya pendidikan terhadap pengeluaran rumah tangga dan biaya transportasi mempengaruhi secara signifikan partisipan dalam memilih tipe institusi pendidikan tinggi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa partisipan yang memiliki akses internet, penerima beasiswa, memiliki rasio biaya pendidikan terhadap pengeluaran rumah tangga dan biaya transportasi lebih tinggi serta berjenjang Diploma memiliki kecenderungan untuk memilih Perguruan Tinggi Swasta (PTS).
ABSTRACT
This research aims to study the determinants influencing the selection of the type of higher education institution using the 2012 Indonesia National Survey. The level of education, usage of internet, scholarships, ratio the cost of education to the household expenses and transportation costs significantly influence participants of high education in selecting the type of higher education. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh sosial, ekonomi, dan demografi serta rasa ketidakberdayaan rumah tangga terhadap peluang anak untuk sekolah pada jenjang SD, SMP, dan SMA. Data yang digunakan peneliti adalah SUSENAS 2013 berupa individu anak usia SD, SMP, dan SMA yang tinggal satu rumah dengan kepala rumah tangga. Dengan menggunakan metode logit, hasil yang ditemukan adalah bahwa interaksi antara rasa kemampuan pendapatan dengan pengeluaran Rumah Tangga per kapita berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap peluang anak untuk sekolah pada jenjang SD, SMP, dan SMA dibandingkan rumah tangga yang tidak memiliki rasa kemampuan pendapatan dalam rumah tangga. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya korelasi antara pengukuran kesejahteraan secara subjektif dan objektif yaitu berupa rasa kemampuan pendapatan dan pengeluaran RT per kapita. ...... This study aims to look at the influence of perception in powerlessness with the probability of a child to attend school in elementary, junior high school, and high school. Using data SUSENAS 2013, the sample that will be used is individual with the age of elementary, middle school, and high school who lives under the same roof with the head of the household. By using the logit method, this reserach found that the interaction between the sense of revenue capability and expenditure per capita on Household is positive and significant effect on the probability of a child to participate school in elementary, middle school, and high school, compared to Households that does not have the sense of revenue capability. This show that there is a correlation between the subjective measurement and objective measurement of well-being in the form sense of revenue capability and expenditure per capita.
