"Meludah merupakan suatu kegiatan yang sangat sering dilakukan oleh masyarakat tradisional yang masih menkonsumsi sirih pinang. Skripsi ini membahas mengenai karakter, pola, serta gestur yang muncul disaat meludah, lalu kemudian mencari hubungan serta pengaruh terhadap pola meruang di dalam rumah tradisional. Studi kasus yang digunakan adalah meludah dalam masyarakat Sumba, dan mencoba untuk melihat bagaimana keterkaitan antara meludah dengan pola ruang serta kosmologi yang dipercaya. Meludah sangat terkait dengan intensitas aktivitas di dalam rumah. Perubahan yang terjadi pada material pembangunan rumah juga memunculkan lubang meludah pada lantai. Analisis dengan spatial archetype akan menghasilkan sebuah pemahaman andara hubungan lubang meludah dengan bagian Pusat dan arah Selatan.

Spitting is considered as an activity that often done by traditional communities who consumes betel nut. This study focused on the character, pattern and gesture produced by this spitting activity and their connection to interior spatial aspect of the traditional houses. Sumbanese spitting in Sumbanese traditional community used as the case study to learn about how the spitting has a relation to the space patterns and the cosmology that they believed. The result of observation shows that spitting have a correlation to the intensity of activities that occur, also create a hole on the floors specially on the center and south side of a house"

Hal ini berujung pada pentingnya penyeimbangan terhadap penggarapan daerah tersebut melalui optimalisasi unsur-unsur yang terdapat di dalamnya. Sayangnya, pengaruh komersialisme seringkali menggeser nilai-nilai yang dianut akar budaya. Apabila hal ini terjadi pada suatu daerah yang dipreservasi, maka perlu dicari suatu strategi yang tidak melemahkan nilai obyek-obyek di dalamnya. Aspek-aspek keseharian sebagai bagian yang dialami masyarakat menjadi alternatif bentuk dukungan terhadap preservasi sebuah wilayah. Aspek yang terkait pengalaman interaktif sensori dengan lingkungan fisik, serta ritme yang tercipta dari repetisi aktivitas berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kepedulian terhadap sekeliling. Aspek-aspek tersebut menawarkan pertimbangan esensial dalam mendukung usaha preservasi dan industri budaya tanpa saling melemahkan. Skripsi ini berusaha mencatan dan menganalisa elemen dasar keseharian melalui pengamatan perilaku dan elemen spasial di Wijilan.

Widespread notion about cultural tourism has the impact towards the improvement of potential tourism area. This leads to the importance of balancing the growth of that certain area by optimizing the substances contained. However, culture industry undeniably sees culture as the commodity. Unfortunately, commercialism often swifts the values rooted in the culture. If it happens in a preserved area, then we need to find a strategy that doesn’t weaken the value of the objects while still optimizing the industry as the spirit to enliven the culture. The everyday aspects as a part of the citizen proposed as the alternative to support the effort to preserve an area. Furthermore, aspect that are linked in the sensory interactive experience with the environment, as well as rhythm that is created by the repetition of activities play a big role in gaining awareness towards surroundings. Both tactility and rhythm have their subjectivity since they’re related to personal experience towards surroundings. Those aspects offer essential consideration in supporting both preservation and culture industry. Dewasa ini, muncul rumah-rumah tinggal yang dianggap memiliki desain minimal serta kembali menjelma sederhana dalam hal bentuk, material, dan kualitasnya. Fasad sebagai representasi arsitektur juga merupakan bagian dari karakter rumah tinggal. Skripsi ini merupakan studi sekaligus berperan sebagai kritik arsitektur untuk mengungkap fenomena rancangan fasad rumah tinggal yang didominasi oleh dinding. Tujuannya adalah untuk mengetahui apa yang melatarbelakangi pemikiran dan menggali kesadaran arsitek hingga menghasilkan desain tersebut. Studi kasus ditinjau dengan teori critical regionalism yang mengacu pada konteks perancangan. Pendekatannya dilakukan dengan interpretasi deskriptif berdasarkan kajian literatur, observasi lapangan, dan dialog dengan praktisi.

House is one of architectural products which became common for those who practiced in architecture. Nowadays, houses appear with minimal design and embodied in simple way. That simplification applicated in form, material, and spatial quality. Facade as representation and emphasized architecturally, actually is the part of house‟s character. This paper is a kind of study, as well as criticism in architecture, to reveal the phenomenon of the house‟s facade design that dominated by the wall.

The purpose of this study is to understand the background of architect‟s way of thinking, notions and considerations. It also to looking in self-consiousness design process that resulting on the design. The case study will be made based on some points in critical regionalism theory which refer to site‟s context. The approaches conducted by qualitative interpretative descriptive based on study of theoy, literature review, field observation, and interview with the architect."

"Interior sebuah bangunan dirancang tidak hanya untuk memenuhi kebutuhan fisik dan fungsional, tetapi juga untuk memenuhi kebutuhan psikologis dan emosional. Sehingga, pengalaman manusia akan ruang interior menjadi lebih kaya. Skripsi ini akan membahas mengenai pengalaman manusia terhadap ruang yang dijadikan sebagai sudut pandang utama dalam hadirnya sensasi serta persepsi mengenai interioritas sebuah bangunan. Melalui pendekatan fenomenologi Merleau-Ponty, studi kasus dalam skripsi ini akan mengupas pengalaman manusia saat mengalami kualitas ruang dalam bangunan. Termasuk bagaimana kualitas ruang tersebut dapat menghadirkan sensasi serta membentuk persepsi dalam diri manusia mengenai interioritas bangunan tersebut. Melalui skripsi ini juga, kita akan mengetahui bahwa ternyata interioritas asli sebuah bangunan dapat menjadi potensi utama untuk dieksplorasi dalam proses alterasi. Dengan tujuan untuk mengembalikan keeksistensian bangunan tersebut terhadap konteks yang mengelilinginya.

Interior of a building is designed to fulfill human’s needs, including physical, functional, psychological and emotional needs, so that it will enhance human's experience of space. This thesis will discuss about human’s experience as the main point of view in constructing the sensation and perception of space. Through Merleau-Ponty's phenomenological approach, a case study in this thesis will explore about human's experience within the building, how would the quality of space could bring sensation and build up perception within human’s mind, and later identifies the interiority of the building. And through this thesis, we will also find out that the original interiority of a building can be the most potential source of exploration in altering the building, and restoring its existence to its surroundings."

"Altar Buddhis merupakan salah satu produk arsitektur yang membantu umat Buddha dalam praktik spiritual. Keberadaan altar ini dapat menambah nilai sakral suatu ruang. Altar ini memiliki bentuk khusus yang disusun dalam suatu ruang dengan memperhatikan pengaruhnya terhadap pengguna ruang.Penyusunan yang dilakukan dalam arsitektur sakral tidak hanya terpengaruh oleh aspek kegunaan atau keindahan saja, melainkan berusaha menggambarkan Tuhan di dalamnya berdasarkan kepercayaannya. Altar Buddhis pun juga berusaha menggambarkan alam semesta. Sehingga untuk memahami altar Buddhis, perlu juga melihat altar dari aspek kepercayaannya.Dengan menggunakan Semiologi, altar Buddhis dapat dipahami secara denotasi dan konotasi. Denotasi disini merupakan pemahaman penyusunan altar berdasarkan fungsi kegunaannya yang dirasakan sama oleh setiap orang. Sedangkan konotasi disini merupakan pemahaman penyusunan berdasarkan kepercayaan yang ada. Altar Buddhis ini kemudian dapat dipahami sebagai sebuah vocal point dalam ruang dan ruang kediaman bagi Buddha.
