Background: Removable dentures require careful care by the wearer to maintain cleanliness and maintain quality and function. Removable dentures that are not kept clean can have a negative impact on oral health. Problems such as oral malodor, infection, irritation, and discomfort resulting from suboptimal denture hygiene can significantly reduce overall quality of life, affecting an individual's physical, emotional, and social well-being. Objective: To identify the relationship between denture hygiene behavior and the quality of life of patients treated with removable dentures at the special dental and oral hospital faculty of dentistry, Universitas Indonesia (RSKGM FKG UI). Methods: This analytical observational study utilized a cross-sectional research design with a sample size of 32 participants, selected through consecutive sampling from patients who had completed treatment with removable partial or complete dentures at RSKGM FKG UI. Data were collected through interviews using a questionnaire that included personal information, as well as questions regarding knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to the maintenance of removable dentures, in addition to the Oral Health Impact Profile-14 (OHIP-14) to assess quality of life. The data were analyzed using the Chi-Square tests. Results: The patient's behavior in maintaining removable dentures received a score of 285, indicating good behavior. A significant relationship was found between the behavior (knowledge, attitudes, and practices) in maintaining removable dentures and quality of life (p < 0.05). However, no significant relationship was observed between the type of removable denture, duration of denture usage, or sociodemographic factors (gender, age, education, and economic status) with behavior or quality of life (p > 0.05). Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between denture hygiene behavior (knowledge, attitudes, and practices) and the patient's quality of life However, no relationship was found between the type of removable denture, duration of denture usage, or sociodemographic factors (gender, age, education, and economic status) with denture hygiene behavior or quality of life."
