"Maxillary central diastema in a child with deciduous or mixed dentition is common and normal, owing to the growth and development of the anterior segment of the upper jaw. However, if the central diastema persists after the permanent cuspids have erupted, the dentist should clarify its aetiology and establish a conforming treatment. This report discusses a case in a 13 years old girl, in the beginning of permanent teeth period, with a central diastema due to a high attachment of the maxillary labial frenum. Cross bite anterior and midline shifting were also found in this patient. The treatment was frenectomy followed by orthodontic treatment. The closure of the diastema took place after one month of treatment. The orthodontic treatment has been continued to archieve the correct occlusion."

"ABSTRAK
The aim of this study was to determine the difference of oral hygiene and teeth caries in children with asthma bronchiale, age 3-6 years with several levels of frequency of asthma attack. Fifty children with asthma bronchiale were chosen from Pulmonology Clinic University of Indonesia RSCM. This study used Green and Vermillion to asses the oral hygiene and def-t index for measured caries. The frequency of asthma attack was the amount of attack of children using drugs per year. The sample was divided into 3 groups. The first group consists of children with asthma 2-6 attacks per year. Second group with 7-12 attacks per year and the third group more than 12 times per year. One way ANOVA test showed that the oral hygiene and def-t had significant differences between the three groups (p<0.001). Tukey test showed that oral hygiene had significant differences between the group I-II and I-III (p<0.001). In Tukey test for def-t showed there was a significant difference between the group I-II, I-III, II-III respectively (p<0.001). There was a strong correlation between oral hygiene and frequency of asthma attack (r=0.68), def-t and frequency of asthma attacks (r=0.75), and oral hygiene and caries (r=0.85)."

"Dental fusion is the most common problem seen in the primary dentition. The incidence of dental fusion was approximately 0,5 % for deciduous dentition and 0,1% for permanent dentition. Fusion may be complete or incomplete. Its etiology was related to genetic or local factor. These anomaly could result in dental caries, esthetic problem, periodontal disease, dental malocclusion, and hypodontia in permanent dentition. Treatment of fused teeth depends on the location and the extent of fusion. This report describes an incomplete dental fusion wilh dentinal caries occurred on 72 and 73 while 32 was agenesis. The purpose of the treatment was to improve the esthetic performance and subsequently to keep the teeth until the exfoliation time. After the restoration of 72 and 73, the patient feel satisfied."
