"Penelitian ini bertujuan menemu-kenali nilai peramalan variabel-variabel individual motivasi berprestasi, tingkat pendidikan, pelatihan di transito, sikap terhadap transmigrasi, sikap terhadap pendidikan, sikap terhadap pelatihan, terhadap keberhasilan transmigran. Keberhasilan transmigran ditinjau dari keberhasilan secara ekonomis dan keberhasilan dalam hubungan sosial. Ditinjaunya dua keberhasilan tersebut berpangkal pada keadaan taraf hidup transmigran dan tinggal menetap membentuk masyarakat baru di daerah transmigrasi.
Salah satu kendala dalam pembangunan di Indonesia adalah jumlah penduduk yang besar dan persebaran yang tak merata. Enam puluh persen penduduk Indonesia ada di pulau Jawa, padahal luas pulau Jawa 1/7 dari luas wilayah Indonesia. Transmigrasi merupakan salah satu program utama dalam upaya menanggulangi masalah persebaran penduduk yang tak merata dan sekaligus meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat.
Informasi dari jajaran Dep.Transmigrasi dan PPH menyatakan masih ada transmigran yang tak berhasil dalam jumlah yang cukup berarti. Pada hal keberhasilan transmigrasi berkaitan erat dengan keberhasilan transmigran. Karenanya hal tersebut harus ditanggulangi. Untuk itu perlu diadakan penelitian.
Pertanyaannya adalah variabel-variabel individual apa yang mempunyai kaitan dengan unjuk perilaku berhasil transmigran. Berdasarkan teori, variabel tersebut terdahulu mempunyai kaitan yang bersifat intensional dengan perilaku keberhasilan. Perilaku keberhasilan dilihat dari dua segi, yaitu secara ekonomis dan dalam hubungan sosial.
Untuk mendapatkan Jawaban dilakukan studi lapangan, non experimental, irisan potongan, dan merupakan type pengujian relational. Alat pengumpul data dengan kuesioner. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara tatap muka dibantu wawancara. Metode pengolahan dan analisis data : untuk alat penelitian dengan uji keterandalan skala dan uji validitas item dengan korelasi item skor total ; untuk pengujian hipotesis digunakan uji T, uji x, metode analisis diskriminan dan metode regresi ganda.
Sampel penelitian 150 orang transmigran (Kepala Keluarga) Swakarsa PIA-BUN kelapa sawit, di UPT VII & IX Sei Buatan Riau. Daerah pemberangkatan dari Pulau Jawa, waktu kedatangan di daerah transmigrasi Oktvber 89 s/d Maret 90, (berada pada masa pembinaan periode II atau pengembangan).
Hipotesis-hipotesis yang di tegakkan: nilai rata-rata variabel bebas pada kelompok berhasil lebih tinggi dari kelompok tidak berhasil; semua variabel bebas membedakan secara maksimal kelompok transmigran berhasil dari yang tidak berhasil secara ekonomis ; semua variabel bebas memberikan sumbangan yang unik terhadap keberhasilan dalam hubungan sosial.
Hasil penelitian secara umum 6 variabel individual tersebut mempunyai nilai peramalan terhadap keberhasilan transmigran. Yang membedakan secara maksimal kelompok transmigran yang berhasil dari yang tidak berhasil secara ekonomis, adalah variabel sikap terhadap transmigrasi, motivasi berprestasi, dan tingkat pendidikan ; yang memberikan sumbangan unik terhadap keberhasilan dalam hubungan sosial adalah variabel sikap terhadap pendidikan, tingkat pendidikan dan motivasi berprestasi. Pelatihan di transito dan sikap terhadap pelatihan tidak terpilih untuk dua keadaan yang disebutkan terakhir.
Saran yang disampaikan : menggunakan skor hasil variabel-variabel sebagai acuan transmigran; mempertimbangkan faktor pelatihan di transito; mengadakan penelitian untuk menetapkan kebijakan yang lebih dalam program transmigrasi; mengkaji ulang berbagai dalam lanjut mengenai pembinaan transmigran dari individual. Pengukuran untuk pembinaan pendidikan formal aspek lebih mantap aspek variabel."

"ABSTRACT
Behavioral factor is considered to be one of the affecting factors in individual or community health status. The mother's behavior in dental health can affect her child's oral health state since children under five years of age their oral health measure still depends on their parents and they usually rely very much on their mothers.
World health Organization stated that the prevalence of gingivitis for eight and fourteen year old children should be one of the oral health indicate! s, according to the last survey conducted by the Ministry of Health in 1991. The prevalence of gingivitis in Indonesia for eight year old children: was approximately 60 % and 90 % for fourteen year old children. This condition was due to the poor oral hygiene and child's dental health behavior.
Gingivitis process starts in children under five years old and its prevalence will increase as the children grow. This condition will reach its peak in puberty, then decrease gradually. No one can be gingivitis free (Garrariza, 1984).
Preliminary studies show that dental plaque is the main causative factor of gingivitis.
Mature dental plaque produces bacterial products that can countinuously produce stimuli in gingival crevice. Gingivitis then occurs with the existence of stimuli, tow tissue endurance and high virulency of Streptococcus strains.
Dental plaque is easily formed within four hours after tooth brushing; however, it can be easily removed by conducting a proper tooth brushing technique. Dental plaque can be detected by using a colouring substance called disclosing solution or by using a pocket probe.
Health behavior can be determined as covert and overt behavior. Covert behavior concerns the knowledge and attitude toward health, and overt behavior concerns the health practice including tooth brushing.
Maternal behavior toward dental health affects the mother and her child's oral health status. In this study a concept is constructed based on previous studies to investigate the relationship among the influencing variables. The next steps are testing the hypothesis and defining the variables into operational forms that are measureable.
Questionnaires as a measurement tool to collect data are tested for their validity and reliability. The data to be collected are the behavior of the mothers using the questionnaires. Data about the children's dental plaque and gingivitis status are collected by using a clinical examination.
Objectives being observed are four year old children and their mothers in Jakarta. The sampling method is multistage cluster random sampling. The sample size is 374 and it is multiplied by two to avoid design effect. However, the sample size with inclusive criteria is only 680. Univariate, bivariate and multivariate data analysis are used by SPSS computerized statistical program.
The result of the study are described as follows. In this study, a phenomenon of the main causative factor of gingivitis of four year old children is their mothers behavioral revealed. The reason is because a four year old child's oral health measure still depends on the mother.
Generally the mothers of four year old children in Jakarta have good knowledge, attitude and practice toward oral health; however, only 0.9 % of the children are plaque free. In fact their mother's knowledge, attitude and practice toward dental health are not properly applied to maintain their children's oral health.
Two point four percents of the mothers have low education or only have completed primary school education. Eighty four point five percents have completed high school and only 13.1 % have University or college education. The mother's good education, class society which is mostly distributed in the middle and high level could enhance the implementation of a dental health education program because those mother's get information better than those with low level of education.
The mother's age ranges from 20 to 41 years old. The variability is limited because of inclusive criteria of the mothers having four year old children. In this study, the mothers who have a high level of formal education are younger than their who have lower education.
Ten point one percents of the samples are mothers with very low economic status; 22.4 % are in !ow category; 15.3 % are in fair category; 7.9 % are in high category and 24.3 % are in very high category_ A family economic status describes the family welfare and ability in supporting the family health financially.
The family size of 40.4 % samples are mothers with one to two children; 47 8 % with 3 children and 11.8 % with 4-5 children. Respondents with 3 children or less are 88.2 %. This condition indicates the success of family health planning program conducted by the government.
The children's gingivitis status
The prevalence of gingivitis in Jakarta during 1993-1994.
The prevalence of gingivitis was 46.2 % and 53.8 % was gingivitis free. This figure was lower than the previous studies conducted in Jakarta (59 %) and in Pengalengan, West Java, (61.6 %), but was higher than the survey conducted in Bandung (32.9 %). The National data about the gingivitis state of four year old children were not available; therefore, we could not make comparisson.
The level of severity of gingivitis in Jakarta are as follows : 70.7 % of four year old children in Jakarta are with mild gingivitis; 25.4 % with moderate gingivitis and 3.82 % with severe gingivitis. These figures are lower than the previous studies conducted in 1993 (92 %), and the study in Bandung (96 %) in 1992. However, the figure for moderate level of gingivitis is higher than the previous studies in Jakarta (8 °/c) and in Bandung (4 %). The prevalence of severe gingivitis in the previous studies of Bandung & Pengalengan, West Java, are not found.
Dental plaque status of the children.
Zero point nine percents of the children are free from dental plaque. Twenty percents of the children have a small amount of plaque, 44.7 % have a fair category of plaque and 34.4 % are considered to have a large amount of dental plaque.
Mother's knowledge.
Generally, the mother's have good knowledge about dental health. Four point one percents is categorized to have a low level of knowledge, 70.1 % has a good knowledge about dental health. A good knowledge about dental health is an important basis for a good behavior in dental health. Therefore, a recommendation of this study is important to increase the knowledge, attitude and practice or behavior of dental health.
Mother's attitude.
Generally, the mother's attitude toward dental health is good; 9.3 % is categorized as low; 28.6 % was fair and 52.1 % good. However, mothers with good knowledge about dental health do not always have good attitude toward dental health.
Mother's behavior
Generally, mothers have good behavior. Five point three percents of the mothers are categorized as low; 27.5 % fair and 67.2% good.
Dental health service utilization.
Generally the mothers have utilized dental health services. 2.5% of the respondents are categorized low in utilizing dental health services, 28.4 % fair and 69.1 % good. The 69.1 % of the respondents who are categorized as good utilize the dental health services mostly for curative treatment. Therefore it requires a good promotive and preventive strategies to support the quality of services.
Dental Health Education
Dental health education for mothers is generally considered insufficient; 40.3 % is categorized having very little knowledge and 38.4 % is fair. Only 21.3 % is considered to have a good knowledge about dental health.
Each independent variable contribution to gingivitis.
Mother's behavior contribution to the gingivitis in children is 73.2 %. It shows that the mother's behavior is one of the most influencing factors. One unit increase of mother's behavior will decrease the gingivitis index to 0.86 unit.
Dental plaque contribution to gingivitis is 46.7 %. Dental plaque is the main etiological cause of gingivitis. For four year old children, the presence of dental plaque is due to the mother's behavior in dental health. Other causative factor is because the mothers do not utilize the dental health service available in the community in order to maintain their children's oral health, such as gingival health and plaque control. In this study, the condition of children with a small amount of dental plaque category causes gingivitis, however children with fair category of dental plaque existence do not entirely suffer from gingivitis. Other possible factors are the quality of microorganisms in the oral cavity, the activity and quality of saliva and the gingival tissue endurance.
The mother's education level has a strong influence contributes 73.2 % to their behavior, and the higher the level of education makes it easier the mother receive information on dental health.
The mother's age seems to be a weak influence to their behavior (12.6 %). A group of mothers with high level of education has better dental health behavior than the older group.
The family size contributes 25.8 % to the mothers behavior. Fewer children their give them a chance to consentrate on her children's welfare including the their oral health.
The mother's behavior contributes 73.4% to the children's dental plaque formation. The influence is considered fair. The formation of dental plaque is caused by mother's less attantion in maintaning their children's oral health, since four year old children still depend on their mothers.
The family economic status seems to be a weak influence to the mother's behavior, which is 22.3 %. The family economic status is one of the influencing factors of the mother's behavior towards the family dental health. The higher economic status the family has, the more the family could afford and utilize the dental health services.
The influence of the utilization of dental health services to the mother's behavior is 67 %. Dental health facilities in Jakarta are considered reachable because of the good public transportation system.
Dental health education recieved by the mothers constributes 27.2 % to their behavior. The dental health education should increase the knowledge, attitude and behavior toward dental health.
Contribution of all the independent variables to the mother's behavior.
The independent variables of mother's education level, family economic status, family size, dental health service utilization and dental health education the mother received toward mother's behavior contributed are as follows:
1. The mother's education level contribution to the mother's behavior is 3.3 %.
2. The family economic status contribution to the mother's behavior is 0.7 %
3. The family size contribution to the mother's behavior is 0.7 %.
4. The dental health education that the mother has received contributes 2.1 % to the mother's behavior. The reasons why dental health education contributes low influence to the mother's behavior are :
a. The dental health education material on gingiva health is very little and does not vary very much.
b. The method of dental health education used to explain the material did not vary very much.
c. Dental health educators do not have enough skills.
Contribution of all independent variables to the children's gingival status. The independent variables of mother's behavior, dental plaque, formal education level of the mother, family economic status, dental health service utilization and dental health education to the children's gingivitis status are as follows _
1. The mother's behavior contribution to the children's gingivitis status.
a. Direct impact of the mother's behavior to the children's gingivitis is as much as 6.8%
b. Total impact of the mother's behavior to the children's gingivitis (direct impact plus indirect impact) is as much as 22.8 %.
2. Dental plaque contribution to the children's gingivitis status is 8.3%.
3. The mother's education level contribution to the children's gingivitis status is 2 %.
4. The family economic status contribution to the children's gingivits status is 4.2 %.
5. The dental health facilities utilization, contributing to the children's gingivitis status is 4.8 °/o.
6. The dental health education the mother recieved contributing to the children's gingivitis status is 2.1 %."

"ABSTRAK
Disertasi ini mengkaji masalah pengembangan secara sengaja lapisan antreprenur dalam rangka pembangunan nasional jangka panjang tahap ke dua, khususnya masalah peningkatan efektivitas pribadiantreprenur melalui pendidikan dan pelatihan calon antreprenur di Indonesia.
Kajian disertasi menunjukkan meningkatnya jumlah antreprenur berhasil menciptakan kesempatan lapangan kerja serta penyerapan angkatan kerja dan menunjang lajunya pertumbuhan ekonomi masyarakat Indonesia.
Sementara itu usaha peningkatan lapisan . antreprenur melalui pendidikan dan pelatihan menunjukkan hasil yang kurang memuaskan karena belum ditemukannya satu bentuk pendidikan dan pelatihan calon antreprenur yang dapat dijadikan model untuk ditiru dan dilaksanakan secara terbaru. Pendidikan dan pelatihan yang berlangsung dewasa ini belum memadukan tiga unsur yang sangat diperlukan yaitu unsur kebutuhan untuk terjun dalam dunia antreprenur, pengetahuan dan teori yang diperlukan untuk mengelola perusahaan dan kesempatan memecahkan masalahmasalah berusaha dalam kondisi nyata.
Kajian disertasi menemukan bahwa calon antreprenur dapat mempelajari keberhasilan seorang antreprenur melalui tingkah laku mereka dalam kegiatan sehari-hari di perusahaan yang mereka rintis. Selanjutnya tingkahlaku antreprenur berhasil menampilkan karakteristik tertentu yang menjadi sifat-sifat mereka (traits).
oleh karena itu kajian mengenai proses belajar mengajar untuk membentuk sifat-sifat tadi menjadi sangat relevan dan merupakan suatu yang berguna bagi penelitian psikologi. Untuk mendekati masalah belajar mengajar ini penelitian mengacu pada model teori yang dikembangka oleh Mc. Clelland tentang perubahan tingkahlaku calon antreprenur. Selain teori itu, penelitian juga mengacu pada teori-teori pelatihan antreprenur yang dikembangkan oleh Churchill, Hills, Ronstadt, Vesper dan Brockhause, serta teori gaya belajar untuk merubah tingkahlaku dari Bandura .dan Kolb. Pembahasan tentang sifat-sifat antreprenur mengacu pada teori sifat (traits) dari Allport.
Bentuk pendidikan dan pelatihan antreprenur yang memadukan unsur kebutuhan, pengetahuan dan teori, kesempatan memecahkan masalah dalam kondisi nyata dilaksanakan oleh Akademi Wiraswasta Dewantara yang mempergunakan proses belajar mengajar partisipatif dalam bentuk-bentuk kuliah, panduan, praktikum laboratorium dan praktek lapangan.
Untuk mengkaji efek proses belajar mengajar yang dilaksanakan oleh Akademi Wiraswasta Dewantara digunakan rancangan program evaluasi serta menggunakan instrumen pengukuran entrepreneur traits yang disusun pada tahun 1990. (P.T.E.P.'90). Instrumen ini mengukur sifat-sifat antreprenur yaitu sifat instrumental, kerja keras, luwes bergaul, prestatif, swa-kendali (personal control), pengambilan risiko, yakin diri, inovatif, dan mandiri.
Dari penelitian ini telah diperoleh hasil yang panting yaitu :
Pertama, keikutsertaan calon antreprenur dalam pendidikan dan pelatihan pembentukan sifat-sifat antreprenur yang dilaksanakan di Akademi Wiraswasta Dewantara, berpengaruh terhadap terbentuknya sifat-sifat antreprenur itu."

"ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan faktor-faktor yang langsung maupun tidak langsung berpengaruh terhadap keberhasilan usaha skala kecil. Hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai masukan bagi peningkatkan peran usaha kecil dalam perekonomian negara. Peran usaha skala kecil perlu ditingkatkan karena disamping jumlahnya yang mendominasi proporsi usaha di Indonesia, dan letaknya yang rnenyebar di kota-kota dan di desa-desa, usaha kecil juga merupakan cara terbaik untuk melakukan penyerapan tenaga kerja Serta pemerataan penghasilan. Terciptanya usaha kecil yang tangguh akan memperkokoh ekonomi dalam negeri karena usaha kecil biasanya menggunakan bahan baku dalam negeri dan sumber daya manusia dari dalam negeri. Usaha kecil yang tangguh akan menciptakan nilai tarnbah karena mereka melakukan usaha di dalam negeri untuk dikonsumsi oleh rakyat sendiri sehingga uang bcrputar kembali di dalam negeri. Hal ini akhimya memperkuat pasar dalam negeri (Swasuno, 2001). Kondisi ini bila tercipta akan memperkokoh perekonomian dalam negeri dalam memasuki pasar bebas.
Keberhasilan usaha akan dilihat dari faktor demografi, faktor perilaku inovasi dan faktor inovasi organisasi. Faktor demografi yang akan dilihat pengaruhnya pada keberhasilan usaha adalah faktor usia wirausaha, faktor keterlibatan dalam mengelola usaha, dan faktor tingkat pendidikan. Usia dipilih karena usia wirausaha biasa dikaitkan dengan entrepreneurial age (Staw, 1991) sehingga bertambahnya usia diartikan juga bertambahnya pengalaman. Pengalaman dipilih karena banyak penelitian menunjukkan bahwa wirausaha yang berhasil adalah wirausaha yang sebelumnya pernah mengelola usaha bidang lain, meskipun beberapa penelitian menunjukkan bahwa wirausaha tanpa pengalaman juga bisa berhasil. Tingkat pendidikan ingin diketahui pengaruhnya pada keberhasilan usaha.
Perilaku inovatif menjadi perhatian utama dalam penelitian ini, karena inovatif dan kreativitas adalah dua kata yang sering digunakan untuk melukiskan Sepak terjang wirausaha. Masalahnya kedua konsep tadi masih jarang dibahas secara mendalam apalagi dibuktikan secara empiris. Perilaku inovatif disini menekankan pada gaya berfikir, yaitu apakah Seseorang cenderung membuat keputusan inovatif yang adaptif atau cenderung membuat keputusan inovatif yang kreatif (Kirton, 1973). Konsep perilaku inovatif disini adalah konsep kepribadian kreatif (Kirton, 1973. Goldsmith, 1980). Sejumlah ahli yakin bahwa kepribadian kreatif tumbuh sejak bayi berusia 2 bulan (Feij, ct. Al.; Abrams & Neubauer; Hold; Molen dalam Kirton, 1989). Sejak kecil seseorang sudah mcmpunyai tendensi untuk meiakul-:an perubahan secara perlahan-lahan (inovasi adaptif) atau perubahan secara total (inovasi kreatif). Ciri-ciri ke arah inovasi adaptif atau inovasi kreatif dapat dilihat pada sifat-sifat tertentu.
Misalnya, sifat percaya diri, individualistik, berorientasi benda, dan suka ekspIorasi?
versus ?suka menyesuaikan diri dan sosial? (Kirton, 1989). Karena perilaku inovatif ditentukan oleh ciri-ciri sifat tertantu maka penelitian ini akan melihat pengaruh sembilan sifat wirausaha dari Sukardi (1991) terhadap perilaku inovatii Pengaruh tipe kepribadian Miner (1996) juga akan dilihat terhadap perilaku inovatif yang menurut penciptanya konsep ini bisa digunakan untuk memprediksi keberhasilan usaha.
lnovasi Organisasi adalah konsep yang lain tentang keberhasilan. Higgins (1994) bahkan menyebutnya dengan sangat bombastis ?inovafe"or evaporate".
Ungkapan itu dimaksudkan untuk menunjukkan pentingnya organisasi yang inovatif pada dunia bisnis yang kompetitif saat ini. Konsep inovasi organisasi dari Higgins (1994) akan di gunakan sebagai acuan. Syarat utamanya terciptanya inovasi organisasi adalah adanya kemauan untuk terus belajar, karena itu organisasi pembelajar adalah
kuncinya. Selain organisasi pembelajar, juga harus tercipta lingkungan kerja yang homogen, dimana tercipta relasi yang kondusif antara atasan dan bawahan, dan antara sesama karyawan. Untuk itu relasi dalam organisasi menjadi syarat kedua terciptanya inovasi organisasi.
Konsep Kaplan dan Norton (1996) meskipun tidak lengkap akan digunakan sebagai acuan untuk kriteria keberhasilan usaha dalam menyusun alat ukur. Kriteria keberhasilan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diukur dari tingkat kemajuan yang dicapai perusahaan dalam hal akumulasi modal, jumlah produksi, jumlah pelanggan, perbaikan sarana fisik, perluasan usaha dan kepuasan kerja karyawan.
Yang menjadi pertanyaan dalam penelitian ini adalah: apakah faktor demografi, faktor perilaku inovatif; dan inovasi organisasi berpengaruh terhadap tingkat keberhasilan usaha? Yang manakah diantara variabel-variabel tersebut yang terbukti berpengaruh terhadap keberhasilan usaha, dan bagaimana bentuk hubungan struktural yang terbangun dari variabel-variabel tersebut?
Untuk menjawab pertanyaan tersebut dilakukan penelitian yang rnelibatkan 161 wirausaha yang membuka usaha di DKI dan DIY. Di Jakarta penelitian dilakukan di Kawasan Industri Pulo Gadung, Perbanas, dan Kalimalang. Di DIY penelitian dilakukan di Daerah Yogyakarta dan sekitamya. Tehnik sampel yang digunakan adalah tehnik accidental sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ada 9 instrumen berupa kuesioner dan daitar isian. Daftar isian digunakan terutama untuk mengukur faktor demografi, akumulasi modal dan proses bisnis internal.
Untuk mendapatkan gambaran yang lebih lengkap tentang variabel-variabel demografi, perilaku inovatif dan inovasi organisasi diiakukan analisis hubungan kausal dengan menggunakan model persamaan struktural, dengan program LISREL 8.31 (Linear Structural Relations) yang diciptakan oleh Joreskog dan Sorbom (1996).
Hasil uji persamaan struktural menunjukan bahwa (1) variabel usia memberi pengaruh langsung yang bermakna pada keberhasilan usaha, (2) variabel pengalaman dalam berusaha tidak memberi pengaruh langsung yang bermakna pada keberhasilan usaha, (3) variabel tingkat pendidikan tidak memberi pengaruh langsung yang bemakna pada keberhasilan usaha, (4) variabel sifat-sifat wirausaha mernberi pengaruh langsung yang bermakna pada perilaku inovatif (5) variabel tipe kepribadian memberi pengaruh langsung yang bemakna pada perilaku inovatif (6).
variabel sifat-sifat wirausaha memberi pengaruh tidak Iangsung yang bermakna pada keberhasilan usaha melalui perilaku inovatif wirausaha, (7) variabel tipe kepribadian memberi pengaruh tidak langsung yang bermakna pada keberhasilan usaha melalui perilaku inovatif wirausaha (8) perilaku inovatif memberi pengaruh langsung yang bermakna pada keberhasilan usaha.
Untuk variabel organisasi pembelajar, variabel relasi dalam organisasi dan inovasi organisasi tidak memberi pengaruh baik langsung maupun tidak langsung pada keberhasilan usaha. Tetapi ketiga variabel tersebut menciptakan persamaan struktural baru dan memberi pengaruh pada kepuasan kerja karyawan.
Dari hasil studi ini dapat diajukan beberapa saran:
(1). Perilaku inovatif hendaknya diiadikan program pengembangan SDM Indonesia, dengan mengikutsertakan sembilan sifat wirausaha dari Sukardi dan empat tipe kepribadian dari Miner. (2). Program pelatihan sembilan sifat wirausaha dari Sukardi digabung dengan pelatihan lentang kreativitas dan Achievement Motivation Training bermanfaat untuk mengembangkan wirausaha-wirausaha tangguh.

Abstract
This research is intended to explore the direct and indirect factors affecting the success of small entrepreneurs. The result of this research may provide input in an attempt to increase the role of small entrepreneur in Indonesian economy. This is due to its dominan proportion in lndonesian business and its widespread locations in Indonesian cities and villages.
Small entrepreneurs are also the best way to increase employment and equal distribution of income. Solid small entrreneurs are expected to strengthen the domestic economy since they uses local raw materials and human resources. They also gain additional values because of their domestic location and consumers, thus contributes to domestic money circulation. This will eventually strengthen the domestic economy (Swasono, 2001), the conditions of which will enhance the preparation for the national economy to enter the free market.
The success of entrepreneurship is evaluated from three factors: demography, innovative behavior and organizational innovation. Demography affects the success of entrepreneurship in term of age, experience in entrepreneurial management and educational level. Age is chosen for it is normally linked with entrepreneurial age (Staw, 1991): with the increase ofthe entrepreneur?s age, more experience is gained. Experience is chosen for it has been shown that successful entrepreneurs are those who had previous managerial experience, although other studies show that entrepreneurs without experience may also succeed. The role of educational level is also explored.
The major focus of this study is innovative behavior since innovative and creativity are used to describe entrepreneurial behavior. Both concepts, however, lack attention and empirical verification. Innovative behavior emphasizes way of thinking, i.e.
whether one tends to make adaptive or creative decisions (Kirton, 1973). Innovative behavior is thus a personality concept (Kirton, 1973; Goldsmith, 1980). A number of experts believe that creative personality develops from the age of two months (Feij, et.al.; Abrams & Neubauer; Hold; Molen (in Kirton, 1989). Since childhood, one tends to make gradual changes (adaptive innovative) or total changes (creative innovative). The tendency toward adaptive or creative innovation can be seen in particular traits, such as ?self-will, individualistic, thing orientated, and explorative versus ?compliant and social?
(Kirton, 1989). Since innovative behavior is determined by particular traits, this study investigates the influence of Sukardi?s (1991) nine characteristics of entrepreneur on innovative behavior. The study also investigated the influence of Miner?s (1996)
personality types on innovative behavior since this concept is, according to its inventor, may predict success in entrepreneurship.
Organizational innovation is another concept of success. Higgins (1994)
describes it bombastically: ?innovate or evaporate". This shows the importance of innovative organization in the present competitive business world. ln this study, Higgins?
organizational concept is adopted as reference. The main requirement for creating organizational innovation is motivation for continuous leaming and thus the key is organizational learning. Beside the lcaming organization, organizational relation is the second requirement for organizational innovative. This includes homogenous workplace environment, where conductive relations must exist between the superior and subordinate, and among workers.
This study adopts Kaplan and Norton?s (1996) concept, despite its incompletion, as a reference in composing the parameter of criteria of entrepreneurial success. The criteria of entrepreneurial success in this research are the stages of growth reached bythe company in terms of capital accumulation, product quantity, customer amounts, the growth of physical means, diversification on business, and work satisfaction.
The problem in this research are: do the demographic factors, innovative behavior factors, and organizational innovations factors affect the degree of entrepreneurial success? Which of those variables influence the entrepreneurial success? And what is the structural equation model (SEM) constructed tiom those variables?
To answer those questions, this research involves 161 entrepreneurs in Jakarta and Yogyakarta. The research is done at Kalirnalang, Perbanas, and Pulogadung Industrial Square and in Daerah istimewa Yogyakarta. The data are collected using accidental sampling technique. Nine instruments are used in this research, in the form of questionaires and blank fomrs. Blank forms are particulary used to measure the demographic factors, capital accumulation and intemal business process.
To provide a complete description ofthe demographic, innovative behavior, and organizational innovation variables, analysis of causality relation is conducted by applying structural equation model of Linea: Structural Relation (LISREL) 8.31 program created by Joreskoq and Sorbom (1996).
The results of structural equations test indicates that: (l) age has direct and signiiicant impact on the success of entrepreneurship, (2) entrepreneurial experience has no direct impact on the success of entrepreneurship, (3) degree of education has no direct impact on the success of entrepreneurship, (4) characteristics of entrepreneur has direct and signiticant impact on innovative behavior, (5) personality type has direct and significant impact on the innovative behavior, (6) nine characteristics of entrepreneur variable has indirect and signiiicant impact on the success of entrepreneurship, (7)
personality type has indirect and significant impact on the success of entrepreneurship, (8) the innovative behavior has direct and significant impact on the success of entrepreneurship.
Organizational leaming, organization relations and organizational innovative has no direct nor indirect impact on the success of entrepreneurship. However, these three variables create a new structural equation model, which affect worker?s satisfaction.
This study presents the following suggestions: (1) innovative behavior need to be adopted as the model for human resources development in Indonesia, by involving Sukardi?s nine characteristics of entrepreneur, and Miner?s four personality types, (2)
training programs adopting Sukardi?s nine characteristics of entrepreneur combined with creativity training and Achievement Motivation Training is effective to develop strong and stable entrepreneurs."
