Copepods is a dominant group of marine zooplankton, and has an important role in the marine food chain. Copepods lives in various habitats, in freshwater, estuarine, and marine. Information on copepods in Indonesia mostly came from expedition reports on East Indonesian waters. Nevertheless, information concerning copepods in mangrove waters (estuarine) is very limited. The Cilacap mangrove waters has a unique ecosystem. It has high estuarine biodiversity lives, in which of them is copepods. From this fact, a study on the taxonomy and community structure of copepods in Cilacap mangrove waters was conducted on October 1997 and April 1998.
The aims of study is to know the diversity and fluctuation of copepods species, the relationship community structure of copepods with the environmental factors in Cilacap mangrove waters, to available information on description and illustration of copepods that area from two seasons.
Twenty-five species belonging to 12 families was recorded. They include 17 species of Calanoida, three species of Poecilostomatoida, four species of Cyclopoida, and one species of Harpacticoida. Two species showed high frequency of occurrence and abundance, i.e. Pseudadiaptonius incises at dry season, and Acartia erytlhraea at wet season. This indicated that the two species were common and distributed more widely than others.
The highest diversity and richness indices of copepods species were found in Sapuregel (St. 3) at two seasons, and Teluk Penyu had highest evenness index at dry season. Donan mouth river and Sapuregel had the highest similarity index at dry season. Cluster analysis resulted in one group at all study on October 1997 and April 1998. Stations 1, 2, and 3 had the highest relationship than station 4. The water conditions of Cilacap mangrove waters showed that salinity ranged from 9,2-31,7 %0 temperature ranged from 25-32°C, pH ranged from 6,58-8,74, turbidity ranged from 0-7 NTU, DHL ranged from 10,4-44,7 mg/l, and DO ranged from 4,40-8,52 mg/l."

Bivalvia, also known as Pelecypoda, is the second largest class in phylum Mollusca. This group has 28.000 species (Barth & Broshear, 1982) and about 1000 species of Bivalvia live in Indonesian waters (Nontji, 1987). Information about Bivalvia in Kotania Bay has not been known well. Based on those fact, a research on the community structure and spatial distribution of Bivalve in the waters of Kotania Bay was conducted in February 1996. The aim of study was to find out the relationship between Bivalvia community structure with environmental factors in the waters of Kotania Bay. The spatial distribution of Bivalvia in several small islands in Kotania Bay was also studied. Hopefully, the results can be used as basic information for father research.
The research was conducted in five stations, i.e. Pelita Jaya 1, Pelita Jaya 2, Buntal Island, Tatumbu Island, and Burung Island. The sampling method used in the study was belt transact. The water conditions measured were water temperature, salinity, and pH. The substrates were characterized by the sediment fractions. Temperatures in the research stations ranged between 29.5°C and 31 °C, the range of pH is between 7 and 8.4. Water salinities in the research stations varied between 22 % and 30 %. Substrates in the research stations mostly contained sand with the very high percentage of very coarse sand. Silt was the smallest fraction found in the substrate.
In five research stations, 32 species of Bivalvia belonging to 15 families were collected. Anadara maculata had the highest density (2.5 individulm2) of all Bivalvia species found. The highest H' value (diversity index) of Bivalvia was in Burung Island (H' = 0.958) and the lowest was in Buntal Island (H' = 0.624). The highest evenness index J' = 0.843 was found in Pelita Jaya 1. The highest similarity index was shown by Pelita Jaya 2 and Buntal Island. Substrates in Pelita Jaya 2 and Buntal Island were dominated by silt.
Cluster analysis at five research stations divided the stations into two groups. Group I, defined by Pelita Jaya 2 and Buntal Island. Group ii, defined by Pelita Jaya 1, Tatumbu Island, and Burung Island. Discriminant analysis based on two environmental factors, i.e. very fine sand and silts, also divided the stations into two similar groups as cluster analysis did. The silt factor had high contribution (96.3%) in separating the stations.
Factorial correspondence analysis classified the species of Bivalvia into six groups. Based on the highest density of the certain species (five groups) and on the common species found in all stations (one group). Among the species collected Tellina sp was the common species found in the five stations. Spondylus squamosus, Trachydarium subrugosum, and Vulsella vulsella were found only in Pelita Jaya 2. Pitar subpellucidus, Septifer hi/ocular-is, Fimbria fmbriata and Chama pacifica were found only in Burung island. The species of Bivalvia only found in Pelita Jaya 1 were Atrina vexillum, Tellina staurella, Chama ruderalis, Limaria fragilis, and Clycymeris pectunculus.

Prigi waters including the Regional Fisheries Management (WPP) of the Indian Ocean, is a different region on the status of high utilization. Prigi Fishermen generally catch pelagic fish with nets and fishing gear trolling lines by using the tools of rumpon other catching. In general, the fishermen are still experiencing the limitations of capture technology. With a simple fishing gear sehingaan average revenue per month small.
Based on the description above, it is necessary to research associated with increased production strategy for Fishermen Fishing catches this Trolling Variables that menpengaruhi productivity between assessments adalahjumlah trip fishing, boat size, engine power, length of rope, hook size, number of crew (ABK), the experience of ABK and helmsman. Using a Cobb model the results show the amount of trips, amount of ABK, ABK experience affect the results of production. The amount of trips the most influence on the productivity of fishermen fishing trolling lines. Production factors included in the model can explain the changes in the catch by fishing gear fishing boat trolling lines on a fleet of ships at 87.5% while the remaining 12.5% is due to other factors or variables - variables that are not included dalampenelitian.
In order to achieve optimal results the proposed strategies are: (i) the need to do additional trip time and attention to the experience of crew and ship captains, (ii) is necessary to arrest the development of assistive devices such as Fish Finder and use of bait is more attractive to fish targets and delivery training and basic knowledge of technology tools and the nature of the capture of fish that were targeted.

Research on Kurau ecology (Eleutheronema tetradactylum) was done in Bengkalis Marine in September and October 2008. Bengkalis waters is one of Kurau fish producer in Riau Province and to support Kurau fish conservation, an ecological study was done, including chemistry, physical, oceanographic, plankton and benthos analysis. The analysis results showed that the acidity value in Bengkalis waters was still good and normal for coastal ecology. The contents of Oxygen, phosphate, nitrate and ammonia were still normal as a coastal waters and it is classified as a quite lush waters, some even were very lush. The Current condition in September and October 2008 were dominantly moved towards the northwest across the Malaka Strait from the southeast and it was in line with the tidal condition that was dominantly receding. The Surface temperature found in September and October 2008 were relatively hotter than in the middle part or the near the base. The temperature in the western part of Bengkalis waters (from the surface) to the base was higher than in its eastern part. It was predicted that there was a heat source coming from the nortwest (Malaka Strait). The surface salinity obtained in September and October 2008 were relatively higher and its pattern was relatively almost the same as its surface part. The salinity in the northwestern part from the surface to near the base was higher than in the western and the eastern part. It shows that the high salinity moves through the Bengkalis waters or Malaka Strait from the Indian Ocean direction or conversely it moves from the South China Sea. The presence of plankton and benthos in the waters is very supportive as the food source for kurau fish. The Bengkalis waters ecology that is the kurau fish habitat must be conserved. Bengkalis waters is still included as a water that can still be utilized for cultivating aquaculture activities, however the other environmetal factors must be researched first."
