"This research is aimed to identify -disparity of per capita income in of the Kasaba border area (Kalimantan-Sarawak-Sabah) in West Kalimantan and East Kalimantan over the period 2001-2007. It was done by observing the coefficient variation that shows whether the sigma convergence happened or not. The other aims are to examine the determinant of beta convergence using OLS regressions with panel data. The results show that sigma convergence was not happened in West Kalimantan and East Kalimantan over the period 2001-2007. This indicated that the disparity of per capita income was happened. Beta convergence analysis indicated that absolute convergence was happened with convergence rate is 4.46 percent per year and the half-life convergence is 15.45 years. Development expenditure variable, work force participation rate and educational attainment were gave positive influence. On the other hand population growth variable was gave negative influence to the conditional convergence with convergence rate is 4.39 percent per year and the half-life convergence is 15.71 years.

ABSTRAKSauromatum and Typhonium are two genera belonging to the Araceae family. The genera have similarities in morphology. Since the genera were erected by Schott in 1832, they have often been reduced to one genus, i.e. Typhonium, by many taxonomists, only to be separated again by others. This dispute has now been resolved after research on chlorophast and DNA molecular sequences, conducted in 2010 by Cusimano et al. This research demonstrated that the two genera do differ significantly. Therefore, they should be separated taxonomically, as Typhonium and Sauromatum. Soon after the publication of this research, the name Sauromatum horsfieldii was restored, replacing Typhonium horsfieldii which now is reduced to status of a synonym."

AbstrakDeclining environmental quality is one of population caused by household consumption behavior. Some of the highest contaminant contributions are domestic waste, waste, and company waste. Waste contamination will lead to dead fish, decreased water quality and disease transmission. Community approach can be done to solve the waste problem, especially at the household level. This study uses quantitative methods to analyze the effect of intervention and waste management training on changes in household waste management knowledge and practices. This type of research uses quasi experiment with one group of pre and post test design. The results showed that there was an increase of knowledge about waste management after being given intervention by the researcher because the p value ≤ 0,05. The results also show that there is an increasing practice on waste management after being given intervention by researchers because the p value ≤ 0.05. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the provision of intervention is effective for improving knowledge and practice in the household waste management."

"A study was carried out to evaluate the extent of total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) and oil and grease (O&G) pollution in the waters of Ramsar Gazetted mangrove area Johor, during monsoon (February) and post-monsoon (May), 2013. The concentrations of |TPH obtained using UV-fluorescence spectroscopy ranged between 6.50-80.3 (mean 20.2 ±15.7) ug L-1 Tapis crude oil equivalent and O&G using gravimetric analysis ranged from 0.06-1.50 (mean 0.37 ± 0.28) mg L-1. Higher TPH in area surrounding the Kukup Island is probably due to illegal desludging and active shipping activities. The O&G was found higher in the Strait of Kukup Island and Pulai River; high surface run-off of lipophilic matters from terrestrial and anthropogenic activities could have enriched the waterways. In general, anthropogenic activities, tidal influence and dynamic of mixing affected the distribution of O&G and TPH in the study area. Values obtained were comparable to reported data elsewhere in Malaysian waters."
