Minanga Sipakko merupakan salah satu situs prasejarah terpenting di Indonesia. Di situs ini ditemukan berbagai alat-alat litik, alat tulang, sisa fauna, sisa pembakaran, dan pecahan tembikar. Penelitian oleh Puslitbang Arkenas tahun 2004, 2005, dan 2007 di Minanga Sipakko menemukan sejumlah pecahan tembikar polos dan berhias. Tembikar berhias yang ditemukan berjumlah 326 pecahan. Metode penelitian yang dipakai adalah analisis khusus (specific analysis), yang mencakup aspek motif hias dan teknik hias. Berdasarkan analisis, motif hias tembikar Minanga Sipakko terdiri dari motif-motif geometris seperti garis, segitiga, setengah lingkaran, lingkaran, empat persegi panjang, belah ketupat, dan titik; sedangkan teknik hias yang digunakan adalah teknik gores, gabungan gores tekan, tekan, cukil, dan tusuk. Dalam kaitannya dengan tembikar tradisi Sa Huynh-Kalanay, tembikar Minanga Sipakko menunjukkan kemiripan motif hiasnya dengan berbagai bentuk penggambaran. Kemiripan tersebut tidak terlepas dari persebaran tradisi Sa Huynh-Kalanay di Asia Tenggara yang dibawa oleh petutur Austronesia ke Indonesia dan Minanga Sipakko khususnya.
Minanga Sipakko is one of the most important prehistoric site in Indonesia. Various of lithic tools, bone tools, faunal remains, firing remains, and potsherds are found in this site. Research conducted by the Research and Development Center of National Archaeology in years 2004, 2005, and 2007 yielded many fragments of decorated and undecorated potsherds. This undergraduate thesis is about identifying various motives of the decorated potsherds mentioned above, which all are of 326 pieces. Specific analysis is used to identify the decoration motives and the techniques applied, and the result shows that the Minanga Sipakko potteries are decorated with various motives which are geometricals, such as lines, triangle, semi circle, circle, rectangular, diamond, and dots; and the techniques used are incised, excised, and combination of incised and impressed, and puncture techniques. In relation with the Sa Huynh-Kalanay pottery tradition, the Minanga Sipakko potteries shows similarity the Sa Huynh-Kalanay pottery either in the motives or the design. This similarity is very possible as the result of the spreading of the Sa Huynh-Kalanay tradition in Southeast Asia brought by the Austronesian speaking-people to Indonesia in general, and Minanga Sipakko particularly. |
