Kemajuan dunia teknologi informasi turut membantu terciptanya sebuah sistem manajemen produk berfungsi sebagai knowledge management dalam dunia industri. Sistem New Product Introduction (NPI) atau New Product Development (NPD) adalah salah satu aktifitas dalam sebuah sistem manajemen produk yang berfungsi sebagai gerbang informasi dalam dunia industri manufaktur. Setiap proses dalam proyek pengembangan suatu produk adalah sebuah rangkaian sistem proses yang mempunyai andil besar dalam kesuksesan sebuah produk.Agar dapat memahami konsep teori dan aplikasinya maka dibutuhkan pembahasan mendalam mengenai sistem NPI ini. Tesis ini berupa studi literatur yang menjelaskan berbagai hal tentang sistem NPI, baik mengenai sejarah, perkembangan dan apa saja yang telah dicapai selama ini dalam dunia industri. Tesis ini juga menampilkan studi kasus dalam sebuah industri elektronik di indonesia dengan harapan agar aplikasi sistem NPI di dalam dunia manufaktur dapat lebih dipahami secara praktis. The advance of information technology has made a product management system function of knowledge management in the industrial world. A new product introduction system (NPI) or new product development (NPD) is one of manufacture activity in product management system that is useful. Information has a major development implementation in the manufactures industry. Each process in any product development project is a series of process system that has a major role in the successful of a product life cycle.In order to understand the theoretical and application of NPI system, a deep study in this new product introduction system is strongly needed. This thesis is a product of literature study to understand the role of NPI system including the history, development and what has been achieve in industrial world so far. In the end this thesis also present a cas e study of an electronic industry in Indonesia to show clearly the application of NPI system in practice. |
