Abstrak
Proses dekomposisi rutile (TiO2) dari pasir mineral yang mengandung titanomagnetite (Fe2,5Ti0,5O4) telah berhasil dilakukan. Dekomposisi titanomagnetite menjadi rutile dilakukan melalui proses mechanochemical. Pasir besi dan sulfur dengan perbandingan weight % 5 : 3 dicampur dan dihaluskan dengan alat High Energy Vibration Ball Mill. Dalam hal ini pasir dan serbuk S dimasukkan ke dalam wadah vial bersama dengan bola-bola baja dimana perbandingan berat antara material dan bola baja 1 : 10.
The decomposition of TiO2 from mineral sand which contains Fe2,5Ti0,5O4 ( titanomagnetite ) has fairly successfully done. The decomposition process has been done by means of mechanochemical method. Mixture material between mineral sand : sulphur with weight ratio 5 : 3 were milled in the high energy ball mill. The compounds were also mixture with the steel ball with weight ratio 1 : 10.
