Penghematan energi adalah suatu keharusan sekarang ini Jika dahulu1 manusia merancang suatu alat atau sistem hanya memperhatikan kemampuan pengoperasiannya saja,. maka pada saat ini mereka memperhatikan juga aspek efisiensi yang juga berarti penghematan, Hal ini mulai difikirkan karena adanya kesadaran akan keterbatasan sumber energi di alam (jika tidak diolah dengan baik I optimum). Berangkat dari pemahaman tersebut, maka PT. XYZ yang bergerak di bidang produksi es krim, menghendaki adanya perubahan sistem refrigerasi yang beroperasi pada hari libur (sistem tidak beroperasi kecuali untuk daerah penyimpanan es krim), agar prestasi sistem di pabrik meningkat. Dalam refrigerasi, ada banyak sistem yang dapat dipilih. Pemlihan tersebut tergantung dari kondisi operasi yang dikehendaki. Ada sistem satu tingkat, sistem banyak tingkat, sistem absorpsi dl1, yang masing-masing memiliki karakter tersendiri. Skripsi ini membahas tentang usaha peningkatan prestasi sistem reftigerasi Saving on energy is a must nowadays. In the past, human only concerned about the operational capability of the system or machine when designing it. Today, they also concern about the efficiency of the system or machine which also means the economizing.It is because of their consciousness of limited energy resources in the earth. Based on this reason, a firm named PT. XYZ which moves in ice cream production, wants to have change on the refrigeration system when it operates in holy day (the system doesn't operate except in the ice cream storage area), so that the performance increases. In refrigeration, there are many systems could be chosen which is based on the operation condition. They are single stage system, multi-stage system, absorption system, etc, which every of them have their own characteristics. Content of this script is about the effort to increase the performance of refrigeration system in ice cream factory of PT.
