Performance characterization of MIMO in populated environment

| By comparing the performance of IEEE 802.11n and 802.11g standard, the project aimed to characterize the performance of MiMo (Multiple Input Multiple Output) that is represented by the 802.11n standard and SiSo (Single Input Single Output) that is represented by the 802.11g standard in real world environment. By conducting the performance characterization in a populated environment MiMo - s advantage to SiSo became more apparent.The connection speeds or data rates of each standard are the main consideration in the characterization. These are done by establish an ad hoc connection and simulating download and upload between 2 computer (PC) terminals, using the 'Elephant and Mice' method of varying between 1 large file and several small files. These simulations were done in real world environment, where obstacle and the movement of people are the integral part of the design of the simulation to achieve the idea of performance characterization in populated environment. |
