ABSTRAK
Setiap perusahaan membutuhkan modal untuk bisa menjalankan kegiatan operasinya, sama halnya dengan PT. X, perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang konstruksi di Indonesia. Saat ini perusahaan memiliki struktur modal 49,58% utang dan 50,42% modal sendiri. Semakin tinggi tingkat utang akan meningkatkan kemungkinan perusahaan mengalami kebangkrutan. Struktur modal yang optimal akan menghasilkan nilai perusahaan yang paling tinggi dan menimbulkan biaya yang paling rendah. Nilai perusahaan tertinggi berada di komposisi utang 30%. Biaya modal (WACC) yang paling rendah yaitu 11,04% berada di komposisi utang 40%. Berdasarkan perhitungan tersebut, struktur modal yang optimal untuk PT. X berada pada komposisi utang antara 30%-40%.
Abstract
Every company needs capital to run its operations, so does PT. X, a company which operates in construction industry in Indonesia. At present, the capital structure of the company is composed by 49,58% debt and 50,42% equity. The higher the level of debt the company will increase the risk of bankruptcy. The optimal capital structure will maximize the value of the firm and minimize the cost of capital. The maximum value of the firm is reached when the debt ratio is 30%.The minimum cost of capital (WACC) which is 11,04% is reached at 40% debt ratio. Based on that calculation, the optimal capital structure of PT. X can be reach between 30% and 40% in debt ratio. |
