Teknik Pembuatan Polimerisasi Metilisoeugenol dengan Katalis Boron Trifluorida Dietel Eter Kompleks

 Abstrak

Metilisoeugenol made by metileugenol with isomerisation catalyst way utilize of calium tertier
butoxida (KO-t-Bu) without solution at 100° C temperature. The isomerisation result to be identification
with gas chromatography (GC) and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (H NMR). From the
identification results with GC method founded that trans-metilisoeugenol more dominate than cis-metil-
isoeugenol The metilisoeugenol polimerisation worked in nitrogen atmosphere condition used by
boron trifluorida dietil eter complex catalyst and sulphate acid concentrated in n-hexana media. The
result of polimer in reddish gel shape, was then identified with thin layer chromatography (TLC) and
infra red (IR) spectrometer. The molecul weight of poly (metilisoeugenol) was determined using boiling
point increasing method (ebuliometri). It was found that the biggest molecular weight was 1517
gram/mol with n = 8.5.
