Abstract
Harmonics are a problem in Electrical Power Systems. It will causes the distortion both of current and voltage due to non linear load. To reduce the harmonics, it will need a passive filter. In this research a second order damped filter has designed to reduce the harmonic distortion in household load. By measuring households load, it can recognized the different characteristics of current and voltage THD (Total Harmonic Distortion). Based on the result data of measurement, calculations will be performed to determine the specifications of the filter which will then be simulated in the program ETAP POWER STATION 7.0.0.
