ABSTRAK
Obat herbal sering digunakan sebagai alternatif pengobatan disamping obat konvensional. Termasuk oleh pengidap diabetes melitus (DM) tipe 2, penyakit kronis yang para pengidapnya seringkali tidak bisa terlepas dari penggunaan obat antidiabetes oral (ADO). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pola penggunaan antidiabetes herbal pada pasien DM tipe 2 yang sedang berobat di puskesmas dan untuk mengetahui efek perseptif yang muncul serta mengetahui hubungan antara efek perseptif yang muncul dengan frekuensi penggunaan, jangka waktu penggunaan dan penggunaannya bersama ADO. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif analisis dengan metode potong lintang menggunakan kuesioner yang valid dan reliabel sebagai panduan wawancara. Penelitian dilakukan di 11 Puskesmas Kecamatan Kota Depok dari bulan Maret sampai Mei 2012. Responden diambil dengan metode consecutive sampling. Responden penelitian jumlahnya 101 orang, sebanyak 52,47 % menggunakan antidiabetes herbal dan 71,70 % pengguna antidiabetes herbal masih menggunakan ADO. Daun sirsak, daun salam dan kulit manggis adalah tiga terbanyak antidiabetes herbal yang digunakan. Efek perseptif paling banyak dirasakan adalah berkurangnya frekuensi buang air kecil sebanyak 24,53 % dan perasaan badan lebih enak sebanyak 18,87 % sedangkan 22,64 % responden tidak merasakan efek perseptif. Hanya 15,09 % responden merasakan efek samping perseptif berupa mual dan meningkatnya frekuensi buang air kecil. Tidak terdapat hubungan antara frekuensi, jangka waktu penggunaan dan penggunaan ADO dengan munculnya efek-efek perseptif.
ABSTRACT
Herbal medicine is often used as an alternative medication in addition to a conventional one. It is also the case of people suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM), a chronic disease in which the patients with this disease often cannot be detached from the use of oral antidiabetic drugs (OAD). The aim of this research are to investigate the pattern of the use of herbal antidiabetic agents to type 2 DM patients who are being treated in puskesmas, to identify the emerging perceptive effects, and to identify the relation between the perceptive effects with the frequency of use, period of use, as well as the combined consumption with OAD. The research is a descriptive analysis with a cross sectional method using a valid and reliable questionnaire as an interview guideline. The research was conducted at 11 Puskesmas Kecamatan Kota Depok from March to May 2012. The respondents were chosen by using consecutive sampling method. In the research, there are 101 respondents; 52.47% of them use herbal antidiabetic agents and 71.70% of the users of herbal antidiabetic agents still consume OAD. Soursop leaves, bay leaves, and mangosteen peel are three herbal antidiabetic agents that are mostly used. The perceptive effects that are primarily perceived are the decreased of the frequency of urination (24.53%) and the better feeling of the body (18.87%) whereas 22.64% of the respondents do not perceive perceptive effects. Only 15.09% of the respondents perceive the perceptive side effects such as nausea and the increasing frequency of urination. There is no correlation between the frequencies of use, the period of use, and the use of OAD with the emergence of perceptive effects. |
