Abstract
Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana seseorang dengan kehilangan penglihatan dalam hal ini ialah penyandang tunanetra berinteraksi terhadap ruang di sekitarnya sebagai upaya untuk memahami visualisasi suatu ruang. Interaksi yang dilakukan ialah dengan penggunaan indra yang masih berfungsi yaitu indra pendengaran, perabaan, dan penciuman, serta penggunaan tongkat. Dari interaksi tersebut diperoleh informasi berupa bentuk, ukuran, berat, kekerasan/ kelembutan, kakasaran / kehalusan, hangat / dingin, dan material dari suatu objek. Setelah mereka berinteraksi terhadap ruang, diharapkan mereka dapat memahami visualisasi ruang walaupun terbatas. Bekal tersebut digunakan mereka untuk mengetahui posisi objek atau furnitur yang dapat mereka gunakan sebagai panduan dalam mengarahkan ke tempat tujuan mereka.
......This thesis aims to understand how a person with vision loss in this case are the blind people interact on the space around it as an attempt to understand the visualization of a space. Interaction is done by the use of the senses are still functioning sense, such as hearing, touch and smell as well as the cane. The information obtained from the interaction of space are shape, weight, size, firmness / softness, roughness / smoothness, warm / cold, and the material of an object. Once they interact in space, they are expected to understand the visualization space, eventhough it's restrictive. That clue is used to determine the position of the objects or furniture which they can use as a guide in directing their destination place.
