ABSTRAK Jaringan Mobile Internet Protocol adalah feature yang terdapat pada Ipv4 dan Ipv6 dan memungkinkan mobile device untuk dapat diidentifikasikan dengan menggunakan IP tunggal walaupun device tersebut berpindah dari satu jaringan (home network) ke jaringan lainnya (foreign network). Proses perpindahan tersebut dinamakan handover yang dibedakan menjadi horizontal dan vertical handover. Untuk mengetahui performa jaringan dengan kedua jenis handover tersebut, dapat diukur beberapa parameter QoS seperti throughput, delay, packet loss dan transfer time. Skripsi ini menggunakan aplikasi game flash yang akan diukur QoSnya. Pengukuran dilakukan dengan cara memainkan aplikasi antara server dan client. Dari hasil pengukuran QoS, dapat dilihat bahwa proses horizontal handover memiliki performa yang lebih baik dibandingkan proses vertical handover. Selisih performa skenario vertical handover dengan horizontal handover untuk parameter throughput, delay, packet loss, dan transfer time adalah 21,61%, 18,43%,20% dan 23,48%. Abstract Mobile Internet Protocol is a network feature contained in the IPv4 and IPv6 and enable mobile devices to be identified by using a single IP even though the device is moved from one network (home network) to another network (foreign network). Transfer process is called handover is divided into horizontal and vertical handover. To find out the network performance with both types of handover, the QoS can be measured several parameters such as throughput, delay, packet loss and transfer time. This thesis uses flash game application to be measured QoSnya. Measurements were performed by means play between server and client applications. Of QoS measurement results can be seen that the horizontal handover has better performance than the vertical handover process. Difference in the performance of vertical handover scenarios with horizontal handover to the parameters throughput, delay, packet loss, and transfer time is 21.61%, 18.43%, 20% and 23.48%. |
