Abstract
Makalah ini menjelaskan hasil rancang bangun dan pengukuran Defected Ground Structure (DGS) pada antena mikrostrip patch segiempat berbentuk huruf S (S-Shaped) berkarakteristik broadband. Bentuk DGS yang digunakan berupa struktur dua dimensi yang dibuat dengan membentuk empat buah slot lingkaran pada ground antena. Hasil pengukuran terhadap antena dengan penggunaan DGS ini dibandingkan dengan antena referensinya yang tanpa menggunakan DGS diperoleh peningkatan gain pada frekuensi disekitar daerah perancangan DGS. Penempatan DGS ini dapat menekan cross polarization sebesar 15 dB dan dapat pula menurunkan nilai return loss sebesar 32,6%.
This paper discusses circular shape Defected Ground Structure (DGS) on S-Shaped rectangular patch microstrip antenna with broadband characteristic. The DGS form is two dimensional structure with four circular holes etched on the ground plane. The measurement result of the antenna with DGS compared with the reference antenna without DGS shows the increasing of antenna?s gain at the DGS design frequencies region . This DGS can suppres cross polarization to 15 dB and enhance return loss of antenna to 32,6 %.
