Abstract
Terdapat peningkatan nilai kekerasan email setelah aplikasi gel ekstrak daun sirih 15% selama 6 bulan.
Betel leaf (Piper betle Linn) contains a main component, known as Tannin. Tannin can affect enamel`s hardness. 18 specimens of bovine teeth were embedded in acrylic resin, divided into 3 groups of gel application betel leaf extract 15%, 25% and 35% for 1 month, 3 months and 6 months. Enamel`s hardness measured by Shimadzu Microhardness Tester HSV-2. Statistical analysis was done by Repeated ANOVA and One Way ANOVA. There was significantly increase (p<0.05) of micro hardness number after 6 months gel application with 15% betel leaf extract. Gel with betel leaf extract can significantly affect the enamel`s hardness.
