Dalam perkembangan teknologi yang sudah maju seperti sekarang, proses pemotongan material sudah banyak digunakan proses pemotongan non konvensional yaitu dengan menggunakan mesin EDM. Hal ini disebabkan karena kebutuhan dunia Industri manufaktur untuk menghasilkan bentuk benda kerja yang semakin kompleks, dan menghasilkan benda kerja yang mempunyai tingkat kepresisian yang tinggi.Oleh karena itu dalam penelitian ini dilakukan untuk meneliti pengaruh fluida dielektrik minyak jarak, elektroda terhadap recast layer sebagai hasil dari proses permesinan EDM terhadap benda kerja. Pada penelitian ini sampel yang digunakan yaitu material SKD 61 dengan perlakuan EDM yang selanjutnya di lakukan pengujian kekerasan permukaan, proses metalografi dan melakukan SEM dan EDX.Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa material SKD 61 yang dilakukan perlakuan EDM dengan menggunakan Minyak jarak menghasilkan bentuk recast layer dengan ketebalan yang berbeda-beda, serta lapisan recast layer menghasilkan kekerasan yang lebih tinggi dari pada lapisan HAZ dan Base metal. Foto SEM menunjukan adanya micro crack pada masing-masing elektroda. In the development of technologies that have been developed as it is now, the process of cutting the material already widely used non conventional cutting process that is by using the EDM machine. This is because the world needs the manufacturing industry to produce the shape of the workpiece which is increasingly complex, and produce a workpiece having a high level of accuracy.Therefore in this study was conducted to examine the influence of dielectric fluids castor oil, electrodes of the recast layer as a result of the process of EDM machinery against the workpiece. In this study a sample of materials used SKD61 with the EDM treatment on hardness test, process of metalografi and doing SEM and SEM.The results of this research show that the material SKD61 which uses EDM treatment by using castor oil produced form of recast layer with different thicknesses, as well as the lining of the recast layer produces a higher hardness of HAZ layer and Base of metal. Photos of SEM showed the presence of micro crack on each electrode. |
