 Abstract
......This research was done to find out defecation behaviour among rural community after triggering Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) in villages under Puskesmas Pagelaran, Pandeglang district in 2009. Using cross sectional design, 210 respondents who were randomly selected, were recruited with criteria already exposed with CLTS trigger. The result indicated that perceived barriers using latrine and low income are two risk factors to defecate in latrine. On the other hand, perceived threatening, perceived benefit, land availability, facilitator?s and social support can significantly protect respondents to defecate in Iatrine (p=0,05). Among those variables, facilitator support is the dominant variable (0R=I2,743) related to latrine defecation behavior. It is recommended to consider all variables above, especially facilitator support, in implementing CLTS program in order to maintain and preserve clean and healthy life behaviour permanently among community.
