Abstract
Skripsi ini membahas peran Perpustakaan Yayasan Mitra Netra bagi tunanetra. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi peran yang dilaksanakan Perpustakaan Yayasan Mitra Netra dalam memenuhi kebutuhan penggunanya. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi kasus. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah lima orang pengguna perpustakaan Yayasan Mitra Netra berjenis tunanetra berat (totally blind) dan tunanetra ringan (low vision).
Hasil dari penelitian ini berupa identifikasi peran Perpustakaan Yayasan Mitra Netra bagi tuna netra, dengan kesimpulan : peran yang sudah terlihat di Perpustakaan Yayasan Mitra Netra adalah peran perpustakaan sebagai tempat pendidikan, sebagai tempat pengembangan diri, kreativitas, dan rekreasi serta peran sosial perpustakaan. Penelitian ini memberikan beberapa saran untuk Perpustakaan Yayasan Mitra Netra meningkatkan keseluruhan peran utama perpustakaan.
This thesis describes about the role of Yayasan Mitra Netra's Library for the users (blind people). The purpose of this research is to identifying the roles are implemented in Yayasan Mitra Netra's Library to meet users need. This research uses descriptive qualitative approach with case study method. Sample in this research are five users in Yayasan Mitra Netra's Library, with totally blind and low vision impairment. The result of this research is the role identification of Yayasan Mitra Netra's Library for the blind people, with the conclusion : roles that have been seen in the Yayasan Mitra Netra's Library are library's role as an education place, as a self development, creativity, and recreation place, and the social role of the library. This research give some suggests for Yayasan Mitra Netra's Library in order to prove the whole of main library's role.
