Abstrak
Penelitian ini membahas perlawanan Grenouille sebagai wakil dari kelas marjinal terhadap kelas menengah di Eropa yang terdapat dalam novel Das Parfum karya Patrick Süskind. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memaparkan bentuk marjinalitas tokoh Grenouille dalam konteks sosialnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan sosiologi mengenai Sozialer Raum (ruang sosial), Habitus dan Distinktion menurut Pierre Bourdieu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Grenouille tidak hanya berhasil melakukan perlawanan terhadap kelas menengah, tetapi mampu menembus tatanan kelas yang lebih tinggi, yaitu kelas bangsawan.
......The research examines the articulation of Grenouille's resistance as the representative marginal class against the European middle class in the novel Das Parfum from Patrick Süskind. The purpose of this research is to explain the marginality of Grenouille in his social context. Methode, which is used in this research, is the sociological approach about Sozialer Raum (social field), Habitus and Distinktion (distinction) from Pierre Bourdieu. The result of the research shows that Grenouille not only has succeeded to make resistence against the middle class, but also has reached into the higher class, which is the noble class.
