Abstract
Sejak kemunculan film yang dapat menggambarkan dinamika di era modern, ruang kota dengan segala elemen serta dinamikanya semakin banyak dibahas sebagai objek dalam media film. Banyak para filmmaker yang terinspirasi oleh ruang kota berusaha menggambarkan persepsi mereka tentang kota melalui media gambar bergerak ini. Mulai dari jenis documentary berkembang lebih jauh hingga kota berperan sebagai narrative space dalam film fiksi. Mengingat fiksi memiliki plot yang merupakan inti dari penuturan gambar maka penggambaran kota dalam film fiksi semakin terdistorsi. Tulisan ini berusaha membahas penggambaran kota dalam film fiksi melalui teori persepsi dan teknik sinematika.
......Since the birth of cinema which was claimed that could potentially describe the dynamics of the modern era, urban space as a ground of modern practices with all elements and its dynamics become inspiration to most all cinema practitioners. As they try to film the urban spatiality they also put some ideas in it so we should be aware that everything we see in film was all taken from their point of view. Started from a simple documentary, to most complex fictional story (which pictured our city space distorted from reality). In this paper I will try to discuss how the city is represented as a narrative space in fiction film using the perception theory and cinematic techniques.
