[ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kepuasan pegawai eselon IV atas pelaksanaan promosi jabatan pada Sekretariat Jenderal Kementerian Kehutanan. Dimensi dari dasar-dasar promosi jabatan adalahpengalaman (senioritas) dan sistem merit. Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada 89 orang pegawai eselon IV dan calon eselon IV pada Sekretariat Jenderal Kementerian Kehutanan yang telah mengikuti pemetaan kompetensi dan denganmenggunakan total sampling. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana tingkat kepuasan pegawai eselon IV atas pelaksanaan promosi jabatanpada Sekretariat Jenderal Kementerian Kehutanan. Data primer dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari kuesioner dan wawancara yang pengukurannya menggunakanskala likert dan diolah secara statistic dengan program SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) 13.0. Kemudian hasil olahan data tersebut didistribusikan kedalam tabel untuk selanjutnya dianalisis dengan analisa deskriptif.ABSTRAK This study aims to determine the level of echelon IV employee satisfactionover the implementation of a promotion at the Secretariat General of the Ministryof Forestry. The study was conducted to 89 employees and prospectiveechelonIV at the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Forestry who has followedthe mapping of competencies and using total sampling. Formulation of theproblem in this study is how the level of echelon IV employee satisfaction overthe implementation of a promotion at the Secretariat General of the Ministry ofForestry. Primary data in this study were obtained from questionnaires andinterviews using a Likert scale of measurement and statistically processed withSPSS program (Statistical Product and Service Solutions) 13.0.
